NObody should be getting into "victim" mindset, about (nearly) anyything. Ever.
To be frank, that is the part of Trumpianism that most repels me.
Poor me, poor us - look what China did to us with trade, with stealing our secrets etc etc etc
I, we, you LET them do it us.
Taking personal responsibility, not the blame/victim game, is what a truly self-reliant person or nation does.

Higher global death counts day after day...but a particularly sad day for France today. The US is expecting to blow past all other countries for deaths-per-day very soon, unless they are overstating the projected numbers to get people to continue to stay home. Doesn't look good for the US though.

Some American guy from the China-critical Epoch Times does a decent, but a bit boring, daily video on the Chinese virus (aka the CCP virus). I've been watching them. Not bad. Not hysterical sloganeering like some other outlets.

2 charts lay bare how the US coronavirus outbreak is growing far faster than anywhere else in the world, as it does less to stop it

China – where the outbreak originated and where lockdown measures have been in place since January – has seen a sharp decline in new cases.

In Italy, the country with the highest official death toll, there are encouraging signs that it is “flattening the curve,” or reducing the daily number of new infections, after several weeks of national compulsory lockdown measures. For several days now, Italy had been recording around 5,000 new cases a day.

In the US, however, the number of new cases continues to climb sharply, with the number of daily new cases exceeding 20,000.

There are no national lockdown measures in place across the US. Instead, a federal government lockdown advisory and a series of measures have been imposed in states in a piecemeal way. “US curve is higher and steeper than any other, as the lack of early testing or lockdowns takes its toll. Action now is too late,” tweeted Burns-Murdoch.
