The EU commission completely failed to be recognize their peril following the virus news out of China, documents show, Reuters reports.
“Things under control,” a European Commission official said at a closed-door meeting with diplomats from member states on Feb. 5, two weeks after China locked down nearly 60 million people in Hubei province, or roughly the population of Italy.

“There is strong level of preparedness in member states, most have measures in place” to detect and treat COVID-19, the official said, relaying comments from national envoys, according to minutes of the meeting seen by Reuters.
Of course they weren't. You could add the US to this clowns' gallery.
The optimistic analysis presented by the European Commission official on Feb. 5 stemmed from a series of meetings with health experts from EU member states.

At a meeting on Jan. 31, delegates from national health ministries told the Commission they did not need help acquiring medical equipment, according to the minutes.
Idiots, all of them.

The Dr. Said that the EU Medical Association has deemed the Covid19 virus as a Biological Weapon!
If he said that he is lying, BigNoggin, because it simply is not true.
Because there is no "EU Medical Association". And if there was it would probably comprise of medical Drs, not finance PHD's like your favourite "blogger expert on everything" (we already establish he was full of crap and with no medical qualifications, weeks ago)

You just reveal your ignorance. The "paper" that everyone refers to in Nature begins with the words. "To the Editor " Since when has a research paper ever began with the words "To the Editor "

Additionally, the letter to the Editor is written by none other than the scientist who is in charge of the Wuhan lab. So they are biased about whether or not Covid-19 comes from a lab or not. Yet no one ever seems to want to question the "official story".

Finally, what do you call it when all the doctors and all the Department heads of all the hospitals are in a conference call with the technocrats of the EU? I don't know what you would call it, do you?

Um, yeah, there really isn't any such thing as the EU medical association, so before I listened to advice given by a member of said (non existent) organization I'd buy myself a bag of good quality and reasonably priced Cambodian salt.

Shoot them dead' - Philippine leader says won't tolerate lockdown violators
MANILA (Reuters) - Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has warned violators of coronavirus lockdown measures they could be shot for causing trouble and said abuse of medical workers was a serious crime that would not be tolerated.

In a televised address, Duterte said it was vital everyone cooperates and follows home quarantine measures, as authorities try to slow the contagion and spare the country's fragile health system from being overwhelmed.

The Philippines has recorded 96 coronavirus deaths and 2,311 confirmed cases, all but three in the past three weeks, with infections now being reported in the hundreds every day.

"It is getting worse. So once again I'm telling you the seriousness of the problem and that you must listen," Duterte said late on Wednesday.

At the rate this is going, China is going to end up very low on the list, and as a % of population, near the bottom. They won't be able to plead that they were a victim too.

I think another poster had the idea of why it was so bad in some countries and even worse in others.

Mass transit. Especially the subways, with miles of enclosed tunnels and cars.

Cities that depend on mass transit as an almost exclusive means of transportation and can’t shut it down, will force the spread of the virus. These are packed with commuters, impossible to distance. See the London Underground and the New York Subway as prime examples.

It’s ironic, mass transit, the solution to save the environment may be potentially responsible for spreading the disease.
