I take your point Col, but i think you are being a bit harsh. This trajectory is what is happening nearly everywhere.

But the Japanese Olympic Committee, the International OC, and all the other OC's were seriously deluded in waiting so long to call it off.
Yesterday the Australian chef de mission was grandstanding about how the JOC was so responsible for calling it off "so early". LOL

Generally the pro sports in OZ have had to be dragged kicking and screaming into shutting down.
Pathetic rationalisations about how sacrificial they are for soldiering on - bringing their gifts to the citizenry.
Flocking greedy bastards. it's all about the $$$billions these circuses are these days.

Coronavirus: London hospitals facing 'tsunami' of patients

Hospital bosses say trusts will be overwhelmed in a few days as staff sickness rates rise

Rowena Mason Deputy political editor
Thu 26 Mar 2020 11.10 GMT
London hospitals are facing a “continuous tsunami” of coronavirus patients and some are likely to be overwhelmed in a few days, according to Chris Hopson, the chief executive of NHS Providers – which represents hospital bosses.

Hopson said hospitals had expanded critical care capacity between five and sevenfold in the last weeks, but chief executives have been alarmed by the speed at which beds are filling up in the capital.

He said the problems had been exacerbated by medical staff off sick with suspected coronavirus or in vulnerable groups, with 30% to 50% not at work in some trusts.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, he said: “They are struggling with the explosion of demand in seriously ill patients. They are saying it’s the number arriving and the speed with which they are arriving and how ill they are. They talk about wave after wave after wave. The words that are used to me are that it’s a continuous tsunami. As one said to me, it’s much bigger and large numbers with a greater degree of stretch than you can ever have possibly imagined.

They better all test positive for Covid-19 or the presence of the antibodies in the fullness of time.

Read somewhere that the median nurse age in western countries is in the 50s, with a lot of them in the 60s and older. With of course lots of chronic diseases.

Just the same population that is affected by coronavirus - older, sicker.

Gonna tell them 70 year old nurses to take care of the coronavirus virus patients first? Let’s work’ em to a slow horrible death and show how compassionate Brits can be.

Nutz.

The ADV China guys show actual Tweets from the CCP Head of Disease Control from January and February who repeatedly referred to the virus as "the Wuhan novel virus". Other Tweets by the CCP harshly criticize the US and any country that halted flights from China as being "mean" and "racist" and "hysterical overreactions". Now of course they deny the virus began in China at all.

Today, the CCP announced the hard stoppage of non-Chinese entering China. Doesn't matter where you are coming from, whether or not you have a valid residency permit, or a family there, or a functioning business inside China. You're NOT getting in. All the millions of foreign corporations who invested and set up the factories in China now have no access to them and no recourse. They in effect just handed over their investments to the CCP. Good luck getting your investments and profits back out.
