Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

All border crossings with Vietnam, or just the one at Trapaing Thlong in Kratie Province ?
From what I have read it is all the borders between Cambodia/Vietnam

First vaccine trial started yesterday.
A number of vaccines are being worked on but as far as i can figure this is indeed the first time used by humans.

In this long thread, I have lost track, so if this was posted before, mia culpa.

According to reports from China:
The Japanese antiviral drug Avigan (Favipiravir) seems to be promising.

'The director said the tests were conducted in the cities of Wuhan and Shenzhen and involved 240 patients and 80 patients respectively.

He said those who were given the medicine in Shenzhen turned negative for the virus after a median of four days after becoming positive, while it took a median of 11 days for those without the drug.

The trial also found that X-ray photos confirmed improvements in lung conditions in about 91 percent of the patients who were given the medicine. The number stood at 62 percent for those without the drug."
...
"A Chinese firm that has licensed the drug from its Japanese developers got government approval last month to mass-produce the medication."

While the vaccines are in their early testing stage its very good news that the severity of the disease can be impacted by antivirals.

Its now about letting the virus burn out and getting 'herd immunity' till vaccine testing is complete.

The management of the speed of infections is now the issue.

I think the jury is out on that from what I've read. Holland and UK seem to be going with that model... Interesting to see out of the box ideas..

It seems inevitable that this disease is going to spread everywhere so perhaps we don't have a choice and this is just what is happening.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

"Our governments are only slowly implementing measures to control the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and containing the COVID-19 pandemic. Slow reactions, public appeasement policies, and their urge to stabilize the economy have kept them from taking the measures needed to protect millions from this disease. However, it is not only the government's burden to bear. It is time for us, as citizens of this earth, to take action now and do our part in fighting COVID-19."

That maybe so. And if that is the case let's hope the following is fake news .

Nearly 500 dead in Italy today alone from the Wuhan virus. Italy will surpass the phony official total deaths reported from China by tomorrow, despite having less than 5% of the population of China.

Reports out of France and Italy warning of a growing percentage of virus-infected younger, healthy people (people 30 or 40 with no medical history) requiring ventilators to survive, causing some doctors to have to choose between old and young for critical treatment with all available ventilators in use and all hospital beds full.

On a positive note, so far South Korea and Germany seem to have been handling this outbreak extremely well, with few deaths despite sizeable numbers of patients. The US and UK, however, are looking worrisome with deaths jumping by 30% to 40% day to day lately.

It’s more contagious, more deadly (particularly for older people), and it has a greater potential to overwhelm our health care system."
