Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Have I escaped? Or am I in the belly of the beast? You raise good points however I see Cambodia being vastly under equipped to handle this compared to neighbours. A few weeks of no deliveries and it'll be skull cracking for the last of the lays. The eternal pessimist in me is currently waging an internal war lol.

The air of thought with every person I speak too is quite similar, uncertainty and a mindset of escape back to their homeland.
Slow down little world, you're changing too fast.

Video of the Wuhan wet market..
Spoiler:
Warning: I found it pretty disgusting..
That isn't in China read the sign at the beginning of the video.
Looks like you're right Jack. Good pick up. I originally picked up the link from a newsletter stating Wuhan wet market but going through the comments on youtube, I found this which seems to dispel that: https://factly.in/video-shows-a-market- ... han-china/

It's going to be imposible to out run this virus. Stand your ground where ever you are. Stock up for shutdowns of at least 14 days.

Get vitamin D tablets and vitamin C.

Accept the fact that you will need to play your part and get social distance from others.

Then check you were smart enough to get some insurance a few weeks ago.

For many they will have the virus infect them or their loved ones. It is time to accept the sad reality the world has changed.

Thankfully the situatiion in a few months will be more positive.

Ride out the storm!!! It aint going to be pretty!!

^ Yes, I think that for some of us who travel a fair bit, that we should find a comfortable space and stay there . Not because we risk catching coronavirus, but because we risk spreading the virus. How do you know if you are infected when there are no symptoms, or maybe just a sniffle now and then?
So, even if you think you are healthy, stay away from old people and anyone even mildly ill, for their sake and not for your own. In Europe they have closed old people's homes to visitors, even family.

or vice versa
insurance won't pay out in a pandemic

in fact this could be a 'long range effect'
people realize modern insurance is a scam

Italy is getting slammed. Nearly 370 deaths today alone, along with another 3600 reported cases which brings their total cases to 25,000.

Wow, The Netherlands government had announced all cafes, bars, restaurants etc. will be closed from 6pm tonight.

And what do you see in the country just before closing time? Looooong queues at coffee shops (no, in Holland they don't sell coffee there, they sell weed) ...

This is a very interesting video and demonstrates very simply why the UK approach of not locking down yet might work.

The basic premise is that you only have a limited time to be able tell people to lock themselves away, and 14 days is probably at the high end of that time, before they say f*** this and go out. It is not practical to lock down for months at a time and sooner or later virtually the whole country is going to get exposed to this virus and it needs to be managed, and not all at once.

So, you carry on for as long as you can before the healthcare system overloads and then you go for the lock down and buy yourself some time and let the healthcare system catch up. You then release the lockdown and try to manage it again.

If this is correct it may take two lockdowns (or more) and then, hopefully, the summer will be there and things will calm down. It does seem a very risky strategy.

Watch the video, its gone viral and explains the rationale very well (better then me for sure)

Breaking..

The German government is trying to fight off what it sees as an aggressive takeover bid by the US, the broadsheet Die Welt reports, citing German government circles.

If this is true, i suggest that for many of America's friends and allies all over the world this will be last straw.
If this extreme example of "American exceptionalism" is true - IMO - this douche bag should be dragged before an international tribunal and charged as an Enemy of Mankind.
