Cruise operators Princess and Viking shut down their ocean and river voyages until May over 'significant risks' caused by coronavirus
By Faith Ridler For Mailonline
Published: 11:24 GMT, 12 March 2020 | Updated: 13:59 GMT, 12 March 2020
Princess Cruises has today suspended its ocean voyages for two months while Viking Cruises has also halted trips until May because of the coronavirus outbreak.
US-based firm Princess said its 18 cruise ships would stay in port until May 11 after two of its ships suffered virus outbreaks, including the Diamond Princess in Japan.
Ships which are currently at sea will sail to their final destination if they are due to finish before March 17, or dock elsewhere if the cruise was due to last longer.
Meanwhile, Viking Cruises has suspended all its ocean and river trips until May after three Britons tested positive on one of its vessels in Cambodia this week.

Maybe they'll listen to Joe?Electric Earth wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 7:39 pmlol Hysteria? What part of my post sounded like hysteria to you? It must have been all of the exclamation marks I used and my statements about the apocalypse? Talk about your typical "try to discredit someone by exaggerating what they said so it sounds ridiculous." argument...
It's a post of simple logic opposing the silly viewpoint of "Covid-19 is basically a harmless kitten to anyone except those already on their death beds. I believe this because the flu killed more people last year." That logic doesn't make any sense. To quote you "duh." Covid-19 hasn't even had a good chance yet compared to the flu.

Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
I am impressed that you are now posting real science Big N. ^^^ Sincerely
That's a big switch.
This DR/Prof seems right on the ball. a hardcore realist.
More reality - Drs in Italy are having to triage patients because facilities are overwhelmed.
Let the 60 year olds die - no treatment. Treat only those who have the greatest chance of survival.
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archi ... ed/607807/
The coronavirus death toll will also be increased in big numbers (everywhere) by all the other sick who will not be admitted to hospitals because they are full.
NB - Do not have a heart attack or any other serious illness in the next 6 months.
Not meaning to spread panic, but this is the most likely reality we are facing.
(but i still don't think it will be Spanish Flu numbers. imo only)

Canadian PM Trudeau's Wife Tests Positive for COVID-19
13/03/20 19:45
OTTAWA, March 12 (CNA) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife Sophie has tested positive for COVID-19, his office said late on Thursday (Mar 12).
"Sophie Gregoire Trudeau was tested for COVID-19 today. The test came back positive," the prime minister's office said in a statement.
The 48-year-old leader is not showing any symptoms but will stay in isolation for 14 days, it added.
An earlier statement on Thursday said Mrs Trudeau had come down with flu-like symptoms after returning from a speaking engagement in London.
"She immediately sought medical advice, and is being tested for the COVID-19 virus," it said, adding that she is "self-isolating at home" and that her symptoms have subsided.
Mr Trudeau's scheduled face-to-face meetings with provincial premiers will instead be held by phone, his office added.
Canada has more than 100 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, more than double the number from a week ago, with six of Canada's 10 provinces recording COVID-19 contagion.

Two more from the ship. Upto 7 now
They're two new cases in Phnom Penh.
The ministry of health are also looking for anyone who has had direct or indirect contact with them.

Well, to be fair the British government is already saying there could already be over 10,000 plus cases. At least they are acknowledging, if not directly, their utter failure - though it's been no secret.Phnom Poon wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 9:11 pm there seem to be a lot of brit cases here

At least one of those British tourists has acted incredibly selfishly, the opportunity for them to do the right thing passed when they refused that test. If it wasn't spreading already (which it probably was), it's almost certainly got a foothold in several locations now.
