Two separate types of the novel coronavirus — one more aggressive than the other — could be infecting people during the sweeping outbreak, Chinese scientists revealed in a new study.

The preliminary study, conducted by researchers from Peking University’s School of Life Sciences and the Institute Pasteur of Shanghai under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, revealed that the infection has evolved into two major types, designated L and S.
Sorry, but I don't trust ANYTHING coming out of China now! I smell a coverup.
I think you've been watching too much NTD Youtube channels. They are openly against China
Interesting Ad Hominem, but the NTD is very much Pro-Chinese. It is only Anti-Chinese Communist Party, because the CCP is CURRENTLY as bad as the Nazis ever were!

ABC radio (which is a radio station with quite a few boots on the ground, popular with the locals but not very critical) is reporting loads of people buying supplies in Siem Reap and idiots taking pictures of people possibly infected and posting those on social media.

It seems the shit is hitting the fan now.

As of this morning the number of cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus has tipped over the 100,000 mark – 106,069 to be precise (as of 10am). The number of deaths related to the virus is now 3,598, representing a death rate of around 3.4%, up from the earlier days when it hovered around 2%. But the number of people that have fully recovered has now grown to 60,190, more than 50% of the total cases, a percentage that is growing each day.

Firstly, the virus is at least AS contagious as most other coronaviruses, whilst the death rate is currently higher than the more common seasonal flus. A lot higher. Like 60 times higher (when compared to annual US influenza stats). Statistically that isn’t hugely significant when there are 100,000 cases. But it would be if there were 100 million, or a billion cases.

Secondly, we are in the very early phases of this new viral outbreak. Whilst the containment has been swift, and with many locations (around Hubei province in China, towns of Northern Italy and central South Korea) in almost total lockdown, we’re still seeing a growth and spread of the virus.

The World Health Organisation hasn’t uttered the ‘P’ word yet, but it would be realistic to describe the current outbreak moving in the direction of a global pandemic – Covid-19 has now been reported in 96 countries around the world.

Thirdly, there is still much we don’t understand about the novel coronavirus. As its original designation suggests, it’s novel, or new. New information, scientifically verified, is creeping out each day giving global authorities better information to initiate better procedures to reduce the spread and care for the patients.

Finally, the virus’s incubation period, where it can remain contagious with the carrier showing few or no symptoms, is an ongoing concern.

The death rate and number of cases above is utter bs because most infections are not reported. If they say it is more contagious than flu, millions were infected over past two months in the world and are walking with mild symptoms. It’s an interesting social experiment this virus, showing how logic is not a strong point with so many people.

The main problem is the incubation period which could be as long as 21-24 days. Add to that it is aerosolized and very possibly contagious while the victim is asymptomatic. Fact is that we've got a Pandemic already. Post your comments one month from now. I dare say that your perspective will have changed. What is happening now in Cambodia is going to reveal the true nature of this beast called Covid19.

A hotel used for medical observation of people who had contact with coronavirus patients collapsed in southeastern China on Saturday, trapping some 70 people, state media reported.

So previous reports from NTD like Ugihrs rounded up in prison camps and Falung Gong practitioners rounded up and sold for organs are merely lies from NTD, just because they are ‘openly against mainland China’?

Guess everyone knows that the only trustworthy source of news is from Xinhua News Agency and it’s associated branches.

Because communist/totalitarian governments only report the truth. Everyone else lies, of course.

So CEO administration is allowing open attacks on China, even to the point of comparing them to Nazis, which always indicates a lack of intelligence, but any defense of China is tamped down.

About par for this course I guess.
