LOL, gender insecurity indeed.
The complainants are mostly women, do you want me to refer to them as persons to make you feel warm and fuzzy? oops, sorry, I used the word fuzzy in the same sentence as women...
There are two issues:
1.nude photos, up t you, but I don't want to know about it. I personally find it weird.
2. Dumberestest
Don't be so desperate in your attempts to appear PC that you lose sight of the issue.
They stored nude photos on a cloud server.
Seriously?
Dumb bimbos.
I would say the same thing to any guy that stored music and lost his whole collection. Dumb.
At some stage, governments will force these people to hand over data to them. If they don't hand it over or can't be forced to, they will organise hacks, in fact this one may have been done to make the public feel insecure about clouds and go back to a system that governments have easier access to. If you don't see that coming, you're an idiot.

If someone had a valuable collection of anything stolen from their locked, private home or a PO Box or rented, locked storage space would they be stupid also? You are talking about victims of crimes. Don't blame the victims. It doesn't matter if it is electronic private photos or bank account passwords or dead granny's inherited jewelry that was stolen. Your need to insult victims of theft make you look like the dumb one. Perhaps some hacker will steal funds electronically from your bank account. It will serve you right. You will be the dumb one for having it stored electronically in a supposedly secure bank account that you trusted. "The government" might confiscate your bank account too some day, tin-foil-hat-guy.vladimir wrote:Dumb bimbos.

Hey SD, here is a question for you:
Let's assume you have some selfie porn: Where would you store it?
a) on the internet, where nothing has ever been compromised or hacked, or
b) in a safe at home/in a bank
There is a huge difference. I'm not condoning the criminal act, I'm just saying they were stupid.
Dumb and dumber.

I think you've got it the wrong way around Vladimir. The government certainly prefers you to store all your private data in the cloud. Then they can access it with a warrant our court order without your knowledge.vladimir wrote:LOL, gender insecurity indeed.

If you were to store all your data at home they would need a search warrant and then seize your storage to examine it.
Big difference.
Sensitive data should always be encrypted by YOU before you upload to the cloud.

In Australia, I believe that access to data stored in clouds is subject to the same restrictions as access to 'hard evidence', i.e. a warrant is required.Digg3r wrote:I think you've got it the wrong way around Vladimir. Can't happen until Australia rejects the Westminster system of government. In a number of ways (similar to the US Constitution) the Australian people are protected from it's government by Westminster. This is why every time there's a referendum to change our form of government, it's Westminster that's under attack - the 'grey men' find it restrictive.vladimir wrote:Until Tony Schmabbott passes a terrorism law that doesn't require it...

Under the telecommunications surveillance act access to content requires a warrant or court order as I posted above.Satiated Parrot wrote:In Australia, I believe that access to data stored in clouds is subject to the same restrictions as access to 'hard evidence', i.e. a warrant is required.Digg3r wrote:I think you've got it the wrong way around Vladimir. Access to metadata however does not require a warrant.

Dumb and dumber.
You just reminded me..
Every time I set up a new Android device I end up having to look at nude pics of me with and an ex girlfriend in Cambodia on a very drunken night out.
The reason why?
I guess one of my cloud services was set to sync for a few days a couple years ago. Now, every time I setup Google it downloads those lewd pics.
I'm always shocked when it happens, and then I remember why they pop up.
Guess I'm a dumb bimbo.
I still feel their much safer than in a safe at home, as you suggest is better.
However, I wouldn't expect much sympathy if they somehow fell into the wrong hands.
So, while I can see why you're not very sympathetic, I don't see why you're so hateful towards them.
I do hope this is a wake-up call for everyone who thinks anything digital is safe, period.
Yep. Nobody hates it more than the gov when clouds make headlines for not being safe. Like you said, they wish you'd store EVERYTHING in a cloud that they can access and download to save forever from anywhere.Digg3r wrote:

Any updates on how they got hacked?
