Brilliant just seen that Hancock has resigned. He was my local MP in the UK and I've watched him rise through the ranks over the years with Blair like opportunism.

For a talentless, characterless, slimey individual he had a good run, but they always get found out eventually. Needless to say I never voted for him.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.

A resignation was the only thing that would salvage any shred of dignity. And Boris could hardly sack him solely for having an affair, given that he's had more than any man alive in public office. And he couldn't sack him for incompetence as this would of raise the question of why it took so long. Boris was boxed in.

This seems to have been forced by grassroots members, MP's and other ministers. They all know he is "fucking useless", just like Boris. This was just the icing on the cake. Boris has been weakened by having this forced on him and exposed by not being able to sack him quickly and decisively. Unfortunately, it is well known that Boris avoids confrontations, a bad flaw in a Prime Minister.

Sajid Javid is a serious replacement and is now well positioned to challenge for the leadership along with Rishi Sunak and maybe the delightful Priti Patel. That line up should stick it to the woke crowd.

With Boris being responsible for the Indian variant debacle, as the latest example of dithering that cost the country dear, I seriously doubt be can last until the next election even if he wanted to. This was always possible as his choice but that decision may be taken out of his hands. And if you're going to dump your leader, sooner is better than later to allow the new PM a couple of years to get bedded in.

End of 2022 at the latest. Any takers?

What would the justification be for sacking him? Apart from controversy after controversy, he is still 11% up in the polls.

Maybe that says more about Labour than the tories but a lead after being in power for this long (the tories as a whole) is pretty remarkable.

Because they will calculate it's the party's lead and not Boris'. Starmer is an asset, Boris is becoming a liability. I vote conservative but I accept he is unfit for high office. Very few people who know him well and worked with him think any different. He has lied and cheated throughout his entire private life, and that is not a man you can trust in his position.

When he came to power his popularity rating was 30% pos. 30% neg and 40% don't know. The don't knows have all but gone and people are making their minds about him. In April 2020 he was at 66% positive. By October he was 60% negative. The vaccine roll out has saved him a bit but that will wear off. Everyone knows it was the NHS, not him. He is now at 44% and falling. This Hancock business will send it even lower because of his attempt to accept an apology and trying to waft away the problem by claiming "the matter is closed". Plus the flat refurbishment fiasco, plus whatever more that Cummings has got up his sleeve. It's going to start all adding up.

IF the vaccine provides genuine protection and the country opens up and remains open, it will be left with an economic mess and huge piles of debt.

All Boris will offer is the bluff and bluster routine, and that act is wearing thin on even the most ardent conservatives.

Anyway, he wants to go away and earn big money like Blair and Cameron; he has lots of ex-wives and children in private schools to finance and £160,000 a year as PM doesn't touch the sides. He won't take much pushing.

I initially thought the footage was a spoof. It felt staged. The way the camera is perfecltly positioned, the way he stands nervously by the door and then she walks over and he slobbers all over her like he's never been with a female before. It was straight out of a school disco. I thought it was a trailer for some ew TV satire show.

But, amazingly, it is real.

If you want to have an affair with a colleague you have to be a twat and have no self-control, as any office romance is inevitably going to go south and get very ugly. Add to this being married with kids. Both of them. They must be complete IDIOTS along with being staggeringly arrogant and full of contempt for everyone.

In normal times a resignation would be expected.

But then you add on the fact this is the twat preaching social distancing to the nation and this puerile teenage 'frenchy' happened in the middle of lockdown and it takes on a special life of its own.

He should not only be sacked from the cabinet but he should lose his constituency. This is clearly a man not fit for office. If I saw the prick today I would have to run in the opposite direction for fear of me seriously assaulting him.

BOILS MY PISS

The ineptitude and entitlement of this government is now beyond a laughing matter.

Apparently he has now left his wife as well as his job. Hell of a weekend. Shame he can't go anywhere on holiday to get away from it all.

But, this is from The Sun, so big pinches of salt all round.

Matt Hancock told his wife he was leaving her on the night aide affair was revealed as he leaves her out of apology

The Health Secretary tonight fell on his sword - quitting as Health Secretary and apologising to his family after the scandal was revealed by The Sun.

According to The Sunday Times, Hancock's wife Martha had no idea her husband was having an affair until he broke the news and announced that their marriage was over.

Hancock reportedly raced home after being told about The Sun's revelations.

He then delivered the bombshell news to Martha, who believed that their marriage had until that moment been "happy and stable".

Hancock even woke up the couple's youngest child, aged eight, to break the news he was leaving.

People lacking spine or integrity seem so often to get into positions of power or influence. I’m largely of the opinion that this isn’t a measure of success on their part, though; more a realisation that the best candidates for the job wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole. Add in a little nepotism, and the goose is properly fooked.

I suspect that the best and the brightest leaders of industry, finance, tech etc. (you know, the people who actually do run things) wouldn't be seen dead with the letters MP after their name.

Anyway, Hancock can now cash in on the deals made and friends enriched during his time and the directorships can now flow for his knowledge into how to turn public money into private money, in huge quantities, with little oversight.

Boris will be getting very jealous when he sees the next Register of Members Interests.

Sajid is a huge fan of Ayn Rand, I don't know too much about her beliefs but I remember one newspaper paper in the states used to have a small "thought for the day" saying by her every day which often made us laugh. I am sure some of you on here will know more about her ?

Sex scandals are basic Tory playbook strategies

Last month it looked as though Cummings and Hancock were going to oust the porcine pm

Now he has seen them both off

My British mates are going nuts over all the memes doing the rounds
