Re: New Zealand mosques: Several dead after shootings in Christchurch
Bullshit...........
I know of no one who supports murder of innocent men , women and children under any circumstances. Any one trying to justify this criminal act of terror is the nut job. I know many people who have expressed fear at the "Muslim invasion" but none and I mean none would ever condone these actions of anyone whether they be Australian against foreigners in Australia or an Australian committing murder most foul in another country.
I am not ashamed to be an Australian today or any other day just as people from other countries should not be ashamed of their nationality.

Truly, I don't know anything about the gun laws in NZ or Aus. I see the PM calling for tighter Gun Control Laws. I am aware of the debate on this in the USA and I tend to agree that no such laws will ever stop this kind of attacks. Canada has very strict controls and there have even been school and mosque shootings there. To me, the answer is just not that simple.Yobbo wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 6:56 amWow man! Really couldn't be more obvious!!RickyBobby wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 6:56 pm I do not see any real remedy to these events. There will always be crazies in society. And gun control is not really the answer, because it is crims who use guns, and if the good people of the world were properly armed, that could be a good and proper deterrent.
Loony leaves country with strict gun control laws to shoot people in a country with laxed gun control laws & easier access to guns!!!
I do think that no one, ever, needs to own military grade semi automatic weapons, and they should be outlawed for civilians. I actually hate guns, but I do think that if people were allowed to pack, this shooter would have been killed in short order. (still amazed he survived this)
The shooter has said he had several options to create a terrorist event. He chose guns to escalate the polarization of political opinion. But, now its about guns. Then people just drive vans down sidewalks, so then what, ban vehicles? And then there's the good old pressure cooker. Ban them also?
If people want do make some crazy event, they can find a way.
I have a question though. Do they know how he got these weapons yet? Obviously he didn't being them with him.

He LEGALLY purchased them.Do they know how he got these weapons yet? Obviously he didn't being them with him.
gun control would not have stopped this or many of the mass killings
all his guns were legally obtained.
even thou they were modified which is illegal.
how would you know someone had an illegal modified gun until AFTER he used it?
I am concerned with the fact that now people can sue Remington cause their rifles were used in Sandy hook>>
http://www.wect.com/2019/03/15/gun-make ... urt-rules/Gun-maker Remington can be sued over how it marketed the rifle used to kill 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, a divided Connecticut Supreme Court ruled Thursday.
Gun control advocates touted the ruling as providing a possible roadmap for victims of other mass shootings to circumvent a long-criticized federal law that shields gun manufacturers from liability in most cases when their products are used in crimes. Gun rights supporters bashed the decision as judicial activism and overreach.
will car manufactures also be sued if their cars are used in commission of a crime?
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Yeah, I suppose that's a great experience for you. It just isn't the experience I have had personally in a lifetime of being an Australian citizen.Arget wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 4:23 pm Bullshit...........

I think you may be referring to this Senator today. in Melbourne....I think a separate news topic in a new forum may be needed for this one...Sidewalker wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 11:36 am A senator of an extreme right-wing party, Fraser Anning, lashed out at the Muslim and migrant community: "The real cause of the 49-person massacre is New Zealand's migration policy." He added that the attack was a sign of the growing fear of the increasing presence of Islam in the country.
Remarkably, only 1.6 percent of residents of New Zealand are Muslims. A quarter of them are migrants, the rest are born and raised in New Zealand.
Senator Anning Egged at Melbourne Press conference and punches Teenager (Instant Karma) ????? This video is hilarious. Australian of the year award! Fine lad

Well, a tourist, alien, non citizen should not be allowed to legally purchase weapons. That would be a good start.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 5:18 pmHe LEGALLY purchased them.Do they know how he got these weapons yet? Obviously he didn't being them with him.

A person who needs to go around seeking weapons illegally could raise some more suspicion. It might not stop them, but could help.
Reading this guys manifesto, it is clear he has been involved in online communities and doing a lot of reading and research. It's even been reported that in his online forum chan group, there were others encouraging him when he said he was going to do this. I'm sure that the authorities could have and should have been monitoring these radicals, and dropped the ball there. All of these people should be having a visit and a little chat.

He is indeed Australian and an extreme right-wing Muslim hater and I have looked on Google and the quote is true.
There are people who cannot imagine that there are other ways of life than their own life.

Wow, I cant believe how short that Brenton Tarrant is. Apparently only 5' 6". Maybe that made him angry at the world.
Reportedly traveled SEA. I wonder if he ever made it to Cambodia.
