Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said Wednesday he wants US troops out of his country in the next two years and is willing to scrap defence pacts with longtime ally Washington if necessary.

The comments follow a series of anti-American tirades by the firebrand leader, who has repeatedly attacked the US while cosying up to Beijing, upending his nation’s foreign policy in comments that have sometimes been quickly retracted.

"I want, maybe in the next two years, my country free of the presence of foreign military troops," Duterte told an economic forum in Tokyo, in a clear reference to US forces.

"I want them out and if I have to revise or abrogate agreements, executive agreements, I will," he added...

Philippines: ‘Go ahead, pack your bags’, Duterte tells US businessmen
Responding to visiting U.S. State Department Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Daniel Russel’s assertion that conflicting statements by Duterte were creating a “climate of uncertainty”, Duterte said he was not worried about U.S. businesses leaving the Philippines.

“Go ahead. Pack your bags. We will sacrifice. We will recover, I assure you,” he said before boarding a flight to Japan for a three-day official visit to Tokyo, as quoted by The Philippine Star.

Good! Pull out all American aid and money. Move the Philippine national run Social Security office out of the US Embassy in Manila and move it to the Embassy in Thailand or Cambodia. BTW/ The corrupt Philippine nationals are the ones that cut off my SS payments when they found out I was living in a banned country. ( I got Cambodia taken off the banned country list and one of the idiot Philippine nationals fired.) BTW/ The Social Security Administration jobs the non-Americans got through nepotism were suppose to be offered to Vietnam era vets, but were not.

Let this idiot go buy or be given Chinese military equipment. Firearms in calibers that only the Chinese use. Jet fighters that are so bad the Chinese air-force refused to buy them. And if the Chinese destroyers that were docked at Sihanouykville last week are any indication, they would be easy targets for any Arleigh Burke class US destroyer.

Filipino mayor among 10 dead in clash with anti-drug police

Philippine anti-narcotics officers gunned down a town mayor and nine of his men in a clash on Friday (local time) in one of the bloodiest operations since President Rodrigo Duterte launched a crackdown on illegal drugs.

Mayor Samsudin Dimaukom of Datu Saudi Ampatuan town, who was killed with nine others, has been publicly named by Duterte among many politicians he accused of involvement in illegal drugs as part of a shame campaign.

In August, Duterte read out the names of more than 150 officials allegedly linked to illegal drugs. He ordered them to surrender to authorities immediately or be hunted down. The mayor had turned himself in to police and denied he was involved in the illegal drug trade. He had told the media that he was fighting illegal drugs himself and supported Duterte's crackdown.

From the same article:
Ahead of the deadly firefight, police received information that Dimaukom's group was planning to transport a "huge'' amount of methamphetamine - a prohibited and extremely addictive stimulant drug locally known as shabu - from Davao city, Duterte's hometown, to Maguindanao province, where Datu Saudi Ampatuan town is located.
If "huge amounts" of drugs were being transported out of Duterte's hometown, he hasn't been doing such a great job IMO.

He probably just has a list headed "People that have pissed me off for the past 50 years" ...
