I have been following this movement with interest since the first day the protest began. I wholeheartedly support this movement. Fuck the communist!
If China is so good, why do most of the wealthy Chinese move overseas!

My HK GF escaped in 1997. Fear was that China would do what it's doing now.
The powerful Anti-corruption Police have been infiltrated and watered down over the years.
Besides, HKers really hate the Mainland Chinese, this voting issue, is just a lightening rod for all the other hate and fears.

The greatest achievement of the 1% was making us actually believe that we wielded the power of self-determination.Soi Dog wrote:People have an inherent desire for self-determination. No one needs the US to stoke that desire.
Sadly we don't, we are slaves. Slaves to the banks that own our houses, cars and toys.
Slaves to a media that has replaced the church deciding what it's acceptable to say and do. Slaves to a legal system that dictates every facet of our lives.
Ask yourself, what is freedom? Is freedom the chance to choose between two nearly identical parties every four years, both of which share the same sponsors?
Re: Honk Kong protests
Come on, don't be hyperbolic. I own my house and car. I owe nothing to anybody. Fuck the church, the most greedy and corrupt organization in history...I don't give a toss what any Church tries to tell me to say or do. I don't need "media" to make my decisions for me. I am perfectly capable of doing that myself. None of what you wrote applies to me, aside from some of the part regarding the political system. "The 1%" don't rule my life. If all that you wrote applies to your life, that's your problem.starkmonster wrote:The greatest achievement of the 1% was making us actually believe that we wielded the power of self-determination.Soi Dog wrote:People have an inherent desire for self-determination.
