Happy 4th of July
Happy 4th of July
The United States is going through some tough shit right now.
Flourishing democracies are messy at times. That's how you know that freedom is valued in a culture......things are allowed to get messy, without the government rolling in with tanks.
The US is far from perfect but it's my home. We, as a huge community, try the best we can but often fall short.
It is in these tough times, when we fall short, that we come out the other side just that little bit improved.
Just as Damascus steel gets fired, folded over, hammered, and fired again, the US becomes stronger each time it gets forged in the fires of prejudice, partisanship, and social unrest. And those impurities are burned away, little by little.
