After days and days of intense discussion between the Trump administration and Senate members, they were able to strike up a record breaking deal of over $2-trillion, which could mean $1200 to every American, to help stimulate the economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stimulus Plan Details

Described as being “a war-time level of investment for our nation” by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. The nuts and bolts of the agreement are yet to be revealed however the main elements of the agreement have become very clear.

They can be outlined as the following:

$250 billion for direct payments to American individuals and families
$350 billion for small business loans
$250 billion for unemployment benefits
$500 billion as loans for businesses in distress

What is the definition of American for this purpose? Presumably anyone with an American passport but what about the undocumented labour working semi-legallyfarms, and those waiting to obtain citizenship. Just curious.

The calculations made to check your eligibility for these payments will be based on your 2018 taxes that you would’ve filed last year

The same defination as always: An American Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien. Illegal Aliens need not apply.

Hell, I've been paying taxes since I was 16 and haven't gotten shit out of it. Since I moved to Cambodia, I probably won't now either. Damn gubment.

What I wonder is where this two Trillion dollars is coming from, considering the US is already in debt trillions of dollars. Are they just printing more notes and calling it good? Raising taxes next year to compensate(which will just remain raised forever)?

Those who get the money have paid into the Federal coffers with the payroll taxes withheld from their wages/income.
