Gambia offers to take Rohingya refugees
Many Gambians are fleeing to Europe to escape poverty and dictatorship, so it seems the ideal place for some refugees.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/m ... a-refugeesGambia says it will take all Rohingya refugees as part of its “sacred duty” to alleviate the suffering of fellow Muslims flooding south-east Asia to escape oppression.
The government of the impoverished west African nation asked countries of the region to send them and it will set them up in refugee camps.
...
[President]Jammeh, an outspoken military officer and former wrestler, has ruled the former British colony with an iron fist since seizing power in 1994.
The regime is frequently berated for human rights abuses, extra-judicial killings, torture and the muzzling of journalists.
A third of the population in the tiny nation survives on $1.25 or less a day, according to the UN’s 2013 human development report.

Yes, way aren't ALL the muslim countries offering to take these people? Maybe its because a lot of muslim countries are sh*tholes, nothing but sand, poverty stricken, run by self centered royal families/governments or have a war going on. Iran wants to be a leading muslim power, why haven't they made an offer?

Iran IS a leading muslim power, not wants to be. Get over it. The boats sail with the wind/current, if you check your geography you will see Iran is in the wrong direction, as is Gambia, but the offer from Gambia was just hot air/salesmanship.

Vlad: Having been a sailor for upwards of 43 years and worked ships on the Indian Ocean, I know the currents. tides, winds there. You might be amazed to find out that there is a new invention called an airplane. The Iranian government has a bunch of military transports and commercial airlines that could be sent to whisk these people to the Iranian workers Islamic paradise, or the Saudi royal family could send their private jets (the ones with gold fixtures) to save these illegal aliens/muslims.
Both countries doing this will happen about the time pigs sprout wings, shoot flames out their ass's and fly.

Dude, they are arriving in boats, not airplanes. They cannot run the engine the whole time, the traffickers don't supply enough fuel as it costs money. So they follow the winds/current.
After 43 years you don't understand that?
The numbers would make an airlift very expensive, converted cargo ship would be best.

Excellent point, takeoman. Even if they were invited, they would be suspicious.

Vlad: Your not getting the point (nothing new.) They arrive at their destination by boat. A SUNNI country sends planes/ships and whisks them to Islamic paradise. (never happen!) Why do non-Islamic countries like America. Australia, etc, have to take them in when there are loads of Islamic countries where they could practice their antiquated religion? I sure don't see a rush by their Islamic brothers to help them.
Case in point. The Israelis found some black Jews in Africa and transported them to Israel.
Why can't the all loving muslim countries do this? Why? because Islam and the Arab world are still living in the 13th century when they hit their peak. Its a hateful, Mulla-powered power-hungry religion that wants to subjugate the rest of the world and is all tribal thus the Sunni/Shia hate-wars.
