Facebook banned by Nauru government
Well, what a surprising thing to happen on the Australian satellite island of Nauru where they store the refugees that they don't want on the mainland: the democratic government of Nauru has banned FB.
Supposedly it is a crackdown on child pornography ? Nothing to do with stifling the political opposition or getting the refugees to shut up about their conditions of detention of course.
Good to see the Australian presence in Nauru is promoting democracy.

Opposition MP Matthew Batsiua told Pacific Beat that this was an act aiming to restrict dissent to the current leadership and “the rights of the people to access social media.” ...
Refugees housed in the Nauru detention centre who used Facebook to keep in touch with family members, will now be cut off.

I think the US just added another poodle state. Abbott and Blair are probably backslapping on facebook.
