Extremist settlers rapidly seizing West Bank land

Post by phuketrichard »

NO one BUT a Hamas supporter would say what happened Oct 7th was right.
BUT this is one reason why i support Palestine over Israel

Israelis settlers are STEALING land from Palestine , often with the support of the Israeli government
The number of these outposts has risen rapidly in recent years, new BBC analysis shows. There are currently at least 196 across the West Bank, and 29 were set up last year - more than in any previous year.

The outposts - which can be farms, clusters of houses, or even groups of caravans - often lack defined boundaries and are illegal under both Israeli and international law.

But the BBC World Service has seen documents showing that organisations with close ties to the Israeli government have provided money and land used to establish new illegal outposts.

The BBC has also analysed open source intelligence to examine their proliferation, and has investigated the settler who Ayesha Shtayyeh says threatened her.

Experts say outposts are able to seize large swathes of land more rapidly than settlements, and are increasingly linked to violence and harassment towards Palestinian communities.

I did not go fight when my country called me too, ( in 68) I refused. I went to court and told the judge I would not travel 10,000 miles to fight an unjust war for for unjust reasons> I told him , IF they came to the states, i'd be first in line to defend my country

If i was a Palestinian, i would feel the same

Israeli's continued war against Palestine and the above seizer of land is ONLY making the next generation HATE , even more< Israel.

There isn't a country called Palestine. The West Bank was part of Jordan siezed by the Israelis when they defended their own country against an arab coalition that included Jordan. If you were an Israeli you woud feel the same.

If you read the map key you can see this was just a proposal - which wasn't accepted by the Palestinians or Arab states.

ONLY countries can be members or hold Permanent Observer State of the UN.... correct?
April 2024

Right now, Palestine is a “Permanent Observer State” at the UN,
enjoying the status that allows it to participate in all of the Organization’s proceedings, except for voting on draft resolutions and decisions in its main organs and bodies, from the Security Council to the General Assembly and its six main committees.

On 2 April 2024, Palestine sent the UN Secretary-General a letter requesting renewed consideration be given to the application of Palestine for admission to membership in the UN, a request originally submitted in 2011. Upon receipt of the request, the UN chief forwarded it to the Security Council, which on 8 April took up the matter in an open meeting.

The process is a continuation of what happened in September 2011, when the Palestinian President sent a letter with the application request for UN membership to the UN chief, who promptly sent the application to the Security Council and the General Assembly. In accordance with the Council’s provisional rules of procedure, the Security Council referred the matter to its Committee on Admission of New Members, where members deliberated but were not unanimous on approving the request.
As a Permanent Observer State, Palestine’s flag does fly outside the UN Secretariat building in New York, although it is slightly separated from the UN Member State flags and is not part of the alphabetic line-up.

If there isn't a country called Palestine, why is it mentioned so many times in all the agreements going way back to 1917, and probably before that.

And if you were a Palestinian - or if you object to the name Palestinian...from the ethnic group currently living there as they have been for generations - and you'd just had your home and livelihood taken from you and maybe a few family members killed in the process, you might feel the same as the people in that situation now.
It might screw you up enough to join a militant group to fight back at the people doing it.

It's a very complicated situation.

My take:
The guy cant be trusted> he is a war monger and wont stop the destruction of Gaza until it is totally wiped out and every Hamas combatant is dead<
problem is, for every 1 that the IDF kills
5 more+ will take their place

Conveniently he does not talk about the 40,000+ Palestine's killed ( many of them women an children )

Demonstration all over the world and even in Israel against him and what they are doing

Sadly, This war will never end
