The road after leaving Saigon Airport on March 3. Normally jammed into extra lanes, bumper to bumper.
Only staff at bar just off Hai Ba Trung 5:30 pm. And me.

Ha! Yeah, on my way to Bangkok this week, I was going to stay a night and then the shutdown order came. So I bought (yet another) flight ticket on Monday and went direct to the airport. I wish I could have stayed in Vung Tau where nearly everything is normal but, well, 90-day visa was going to expire and didn't like my chances for an extension.

This is another concern. My TRC expires next week and I have no idea if it will be renewed or not.ExPenhMan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 10:08 am Ha! Nothing is normal in Vung Tau... except the drunken Aussie vets.
Visa extensions are possible if you have not entered on a tourist visa (DL). The USD $10, 3-month, business (DN) visa extension has jumped from $80 to anywhere between $185 and $400 (depending on the agent). They have to replace the lost revenue from visas on arrival. Capitalism is good.
