You need a reality check John. For starters, as pointed out a few times earlier, this crowd-funder is going nowhere, the $16 million so far pledged is only around 0.32 % of the $5 billion Trump wants. Trump's wall is not getting built, even senior Republican Party figures think it's a ridiculous and childish idea. His incoming Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney said as much in 2015. Now he has shut down most of the federal government, the stock market is nosediving, and probably the only grounded member of his staff - defense secretary Jim Mattis has resigned. Your country is in a mess and all you can do is rant on about illegal aliens like as if nobody ever thought of curbing their entry before.
Mulvaney told Mercer that the best border protection strategy would be more manpower, enforcement and better technology.

I have lived in 4 different states where they are bankrupting local economies. I also have worked for and know many contractors who are being undercut for jobs by many of them who are not paying taxes, unemployment, or any other money to the government because they work off the books. Many of the legal contractors are going bust because of this. I have also worked as a private duty nurse and seen many hundreds of thousands of America taxpayer Dollars going to care for illegals and their children. How much do you think our government spends every year in law enforcement for the gangs, the prisons, and to try to clean up the "Barrios where English has never been and never will be spoken. Want to know how many of the so called fair # people are funded by George Soros and his ilk? When are people going to stop handing the country to people who don't want to be Americans?
The truth be known, I do not hate anyone. If I were poor and from another country and knew I could go somewhere where I could get everything for free I would be in line too. But we need to stop this.

". But we need to stop this."
And the reality is you can't, it just isn't feasible, it's too large an area.
Aside from that, the area where the wall is to be constructed has shown a decrease in overall numbers of illegal immigrants.
up to you...

Well I'm from Yemen and I've been deported twice from the US and no goddamn wall is going to stop me getting back in again. I never got any money off the government there or anywhere else. And I never did a fucking crowdfunder either 8-)

All we really need to do to stop this is 1 thing
#1 enforce the laws already on the books for immigration, including punishing anyone who hires an illegal. Do this they will stop coming almost altogether. Until we do this the wall is the best option.

There is no need for a wall. There are currently in place huge barriers along much of the border anyway. As Mick Mulvaney said - the best border protection strategy would be more manpower, enforcement and better technology. So you don't need a wall, it might be worthwhile building some more physical defenses it would make more sense to just use more motion sensors/ cameras/ minefields and have a quicker reaction force that could manage to contain or neutralize trespassers.

True.

Illegal immigration sky rocketed after Crocodile Dundee came out in Australia.

Israel has proved quite well that a wall will work. Personally I would rather see more and better equipped border patrol, and in the worst sections, National Guard. The Democrats will never agree with any of that. They also disagree with enforcing laws that have been on the books for years. they want ore voters. That is also why they will never agree with real voter ID. They will also not agree to punish businesses and private citizens who hire illegals. Until they do, the wall is going to be the best option, reinforced with more technology, like drones and full camera coverage. Could you ever really see Democrats agreeing to mines? Even if we put up tr-lingual signs warning about them, many illegals cannot read their own language.
