Covid-19 has worsened a shaky rule of law environment
Food for thought: A report for those who are interested in global facts and figures.
Long read.
Long read.
Executive Summary
PANDEMIC BACKSLIDING LOOMS• Most democracies acted responsibly but 9 democracies register major and 23 moderate violations of international norms.• 55 autocratic regimes engaged in major or moderate violations.• 2/3 of all countries imposed restrictions on the media. • 1/3 of all countries have had emergency measures without a time limit.• The final toll on democracy may turn out to be high unless restrictions are eliminated immediately after the pandemic ends.

Duh, that was the purpose of covid-19; so that the government could control us and violate our civil liberties and basic human rights all in the name of saving lives.

Which government ? You mean the one that controls the planet, or the alien government that controls the universe ?
Re: Covid-19 has worsened a shaky rule of law environment
Do I really need to give you the definition of a government; "the body of persons that constitutes the governing authority of a political unit or organization", each country gots one. And if you think any government from any country gives a dam about you, you obviously have been living under a rock, there are plenty of examples of government using this pandemic to violate peoples rights. And I know people like you need examples so here is one if you think this okay you are insane.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 2:23 amWhich government ? In that video they're being arrested for breaking quarantine regulations. Anyone watching the situation unfolding in Cambodia right now can see what can happen when people do that. I personally don't have any problem at all with people like that being arrested, it might just prevent a bad covid situation getting a lot worse and completely wrecking people's lives.Error404 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 3:26 amDo I really need to give you the definition of a government; "the body of persons that constitutes the governing authority of a political unit or organization", each country gots one. Got it, so it is completely okay for the government to make up any laws they want all in the name of covid.Random Dude wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 3:58 amIn that video they're being arrested for breaking quarantine regulations. ^How is that violating people's rights. That was an arrest for breaking the regulations, understandably to protect the health and wellbeing of the public, who most are abiding by the rules and law.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

Isn't that how any new law comes about? A situation arises, something needs to be done to control or prevent the problem so a law is made to do that.Error404 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 4:25 amGot it, so it is completely okay for the government to make up any laws they want all in the name of covid.Random Dude wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 3:58 amIn that video they're being arrested for breaking quarantine regulations. There wasn't a law about trading in online child porn until the internet was invented and it became a problem. There weren't laws against drink driving until cars were invented and drunk drivers became a problem. A few generations ago there was probably no law saying you couldn't cook up a batch of meth in your house and sell it, then it became a problem and something needed to be done.
Whether you find the laws convenient or not they're there to protect society, including you.

I think you might need to check around your head; some of your replies suggest a possibility of concussion, so it may have already happened.Error404 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 4:43 amHere is a shock, anyone who hits me with a stick is getting it shoved up their ass.AndyKK wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 4:34 am ^How is that violating people's rights. Other possibilities are substance abuse, or an inferior grade of tin foil. (Actually, aluminium, so maybe that ought to be factored in)

Out of curiosity, you say government. Are you suggesting that there’s a shadow government made up of all the governments of this planet, where they can manage and maintain this conspiracy? In concert.
Is that a plot from an Ian Fleming novel? Have you thought this through? If you have, I’m sure the explanation is worth a read.
