6 Countries You Can Visit for Less than $50 a Day!
Remember when the dollar could take you anywhere? You could go to Canada, backpack around Europe, or head Down Under in search of kangaroos for next to nothing. Sadly, those times are long gone and the dollar's value has declined greatly over the last 15 years. That means traveling around the world costs a lot more these days.
Luckily, there are still plenty of destinations around the globe that won't break the bank. For less than $50 a day (sometimes a lot less), these countries offer the most bang for your vacation buck. Here are my top 6 places to eat, drink, and kick back (in style) on a budget.
Cambodia
While you could put most of Southeast Asia on the list, Cambodia is one of the best value countries in the region. Everything here is super cheap! You can get a private, air-conditioned room for $20. Local food is $2 and most western meals are $7. This country is very budget travel-friendly and, if you are spending close to $50 a day, you are living large. Cambodia is one of my favorite countries in the world with some of the nicest people, most beautiful beaches, ruins, and jungles out there. It's rough, it's raw, and it's stunning.

I know this will come as a shock to you but people who have $50 per day to spend have no desire to live such a deprived life style to save money.saigonjackpot wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2017 9:14 ambullshit article you need way less than that in KoWphuketrichard wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2017 8:15 am i could name u dozens and dozens of countries where u can easily get by on $50/day

Well, not everyone is a cheapskate like you. When I travel in Cambodia, I tend to spend a bit more than USD 50.00 a day, but then I like decent food, have my beer in pleasant surroundings, and ensure that I do not have to lay eyes on someone like you.a rom in a dorm 6000 riel

pleasant surroundings don't have to be a nice barang owned bar.hanno wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2017 10:08 amWell, not everyone is a cheapskate like you. a lot of Khmer places in SR are 25 cent beers with a meal .
you don't need to spend more to have fun.

Re: 6 Countries You Can Visit for Less than $50 a Day!
I'd say my average in Cambodia
$20 room
$3-8/meal (2x/day)
travel (well i am driving in Cambodia so depends on if i am gong somewhere)
Drinking $2-5/day
Misc $5
i'd say the same holds true for Thailand, Burma, Laos, Malaysia, give or take $5 for the room....
Can not see travelling the way saigon suggests at all. Travelling is supposed to be enjoyable and ur on vacation....
