Seriously bummed. His shows inspired me to travel. In his later years he was also a big Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fanatic and proponent of the sport. After shooting on location during his shows, he would go to wherever the local BJJ gym was and train with the local guys there. He started training when he was 57!!! Much respect. Another good one, gone.

Robin Williams, Kurt Cobain, Earnest Hemingway, and now Anthony "Disdain" Bourdain.

I'm glad he no longer suffers, and left a generous video collection for us to always remember him by.

I'll have a fine meal of exotic flavors in a strange place with good people, in memoriam of Anthony.

And it's now a sign of the times for hard core entertainers to be sober, nothing wrong with that, if you want them to live on, that is.

Shocking, but true. Let them live, and have fun entertaining us.

I can't ever condone that utterly weak and selfish way out that is suicide.. especially when you leave close family behind wondering WTF happened. But, I can also never feel/know what goes on in another persons head and how it feels to them.

Really sad to see him go. Loved his books and his travel shows. I watched the recent Hong Kong episode just yesterday.. He seemed like he was so content and comfortable with where he was in life.

Goes to show I guess.. Nobody really knows anyone.. ever..

I hope he gave the hotel a good Tripadvisor review before he checked out. RIP

Great on no reservations. Couldn't stand on CNN. Maybe even CNN drove him to suicide. And fact: he is/was an addict.

CNN host Anthony Bourdain joked in an interview with TMZ that he would poison President Trump if given the opportunity to cook for him and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“If Trump and Kim Jong-un were going to have a bit of a summit to try and mend relations and they wanted you to cater, what would you serve?” asked a TMZ reporter.

“Hemlock," Bourdain deadpanned.

Hemlock is defined as "a drug or lethal drink prepared from the poison hemlock" that has been used as an execution method....... etc....
