It appears the '' jackscrew'' has been recovered and is in the position that would have made the plane nosedive.

From memory and a quick search , Boeing have had other planes crash because of '' jackscrew '' problems, but it was mainly because of no maintenance on that part. EG,, lack of grease on the nut and thread.
No, that was on MD, it had the problem the tail would lose it's trimming control once the 'jacksrew' released, resulting in a non controllable dive.

The 737 in its' early days had a problem with the rudder, it would get stuck, resulting in uncontrollable rolls. It took quite a while to figure that one out.
Yea, your right, it was a MD.

Boeing has 'severe situation' after trash found on airforce refueling planes

Apart from dangerous Software on the 737 8max that Boeing promises to UPDATE in just a few weeks (hoping it will solve the problem of nosediving) the company has more problems than previously know. Quality control seems to be a mess and we now have Dr. Will Roper, assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition, technology and logistics, raise his concerns.

This time it's the K-46 air refueling tanker aircraft.

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/03/14/poli ... index.html

If Boeing doesn't get it's act together fast Shareholders that are now expecting to make a steal may come out disappointed. This may cost a lot more than expected and...... Boeing has to win back the confidence not only of Airlines around the Globe but also Passengers that will now start checking what kind of plane they are flying with. I been working with Software Programmers for decades and know that the chance of a perfect package is as remote as Venus. Just look at Microsoft !

A great many aircraft use jack screws to move the horizontal stabiliser. It’s a big control surface, and needs a big mechanical jack. The Alaskan failure was poor maintenance, which if memory serves, resulted in failure of the nut which runs on the screw, rather than the screw itself. But ultimately, the mechanism as a system failed.

The B737 has had its own history of jackscrew events, which as a result have brought about changes in operating procedures.

This latest generation of B737 is an enhancement over the stabiliser control. Time will tell where the weakest link in this system is. I’m sure there’s a lot of sleepless nights at Boeing right now.

apparently the new fuel efficient engines on this model are furthest forwud than previous models thereby shifting the centre of gravity further forwd than the type was designed for.
to compensate for that, software is suppose to make tail up changes in flight but no one seems to have thought to compensate for terrain warnings & the software keeps on compensating until the aircraft impacts with the terrain.

Please don't watch if you can't see horrific images.
I’m so glad that you’ve chosen to show such a video, as if it’s representative of actual fact.

The situation is appalling, but at least we can be comforted in the knowledge that 157 untimely deaths aren’t being used for entertainment.

A Message to Boeing : The Competition is moving in fast !!

This time it's not Airbus, not the Chinese but.... experienced Aircraft Manufacturer from Russia : United Aircraft Corporation (UAC)

Their new plane Irkut MC-21-300 the Russian-made narrow-body airliner, which is set to complete certification tests by 2020, is a potential competitor to medium-haul jets such as the ill-fated Boeing 737 Max.

If i were Boeing i would make sure there is not one more glitch in the software used not only on the 737 8 max but also Dreamliner and the rest of their fleet.

U.S. FAA Probed for Boeing 737 MAX Approval

It looks like the plot thickens. Not only did Boeing do a rush job in order to secure thousands of new orders for the 737max 8-9 but also failed to create a brand new aircraft which would have taken another 10 years.

The competition of the Airbus 320 neo made Boeing use an existing model (737) and patch it up a bit. Both Boeing and the FAA eventually did a lousy job which cost hundreds of people's life. Even when the second plane went down they claimed that the 737 max was safe and they would now just make it a bit more safe. The FAA was in bed with Boeing not to ground the plane at all. The reason : MONEY, MONEY and again MONEY.

Now the truth is finally coming out but Boeing still insists that the new Software patch will only take a few weeks. That stinks like another fuckup because i dare to claim that a thorough testing is impossible in such a timeframe. Meanwhile lots of 737 max are sitting on the ground. The costs for the fuckup raises by the day. Airlines are scrambeling to transport their passengers and the plot still stinks !

Why those responsible for the 737 max 8 desaster should go to jail !

When car makers lie about emission they get fined billions and have some serve jail time. (rightfully) When Boeing and the FAA cosy up it's a different matter altogether.

Unbelievable - some airlines still let this plane fly !

Boeing 737-8 max Flight (fly Egypt) from Hurghada/Egypt to Graz/Austria encountered an in-flight explosion and difficulty to gain higher altitude.

The next near catastrophy of a Boeing max 8 was recorded on march 18 when a fly-egypt plane was forced to return to the airport after a big bang was noticed after a short time of flight. The pilot also had problems to gain hight and reported smell of Kerosin. There were 200 passengers on board.
Germany denied all Boeing 737-8 max overflight and landing rights in December 2018. Most EU Nations followed suit.
