No doubt. Aside from the vast sums involved this story would normally be on the "who gives a fuck" page in the local rag.

I'm not sure this story is entirely without interest just because of the dough. Bill has done more toward the eradication of malaria, HIV, poverty and world health than maybe any other individual in history. Just saying.johnny lightning wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 6:35 am No doubt. A quick Google search tells me he's worth $124 billion. I realise that your worth is not simply money in the bank and I'm aware of his charity work but you don't have to be a socialist to find it difficult to justify how such eye-watering wealth can be attributed to one individual.

" Inside Bill's Brain : Decoding Bill Gates ", an excellent Netflix documentary. I admire what he's achieved in life even moreso given his drive to use his wealth he help others. Surprised at the news having watched the documentary.

I agree, and I think it was Melinda who got him to start the philanthropic fund.Kung-fu Hillbilly wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 6:55 amI'm not sure this story is entirely without interest just because of the dough. The conspiracy theorists will be toiling away to somehow fit this in. "Look at her face, while he's talking to whomadink, then she talks to wotshisface and they leave separately" "By George! He's nailed it! (it'll do for now, anyway)"

What would the socialists want? Anything above $10 Million to be given to the state? $100 Million? A $Billion?
Pick any number and the moment it is enacted there will be those who promise to reduce it and give more to 'the poor' and send the bill to someone else, if you vote for them.
It is exactly the same as the minimum wage. It is a perfect political tool, the government gives out pay rises in the private sector and sends the bill the wealth creators, but when it comes to the government picking up the bill for any similar largesse, they give the NHS 1%.

Marriage is a profitable business if done right. How did you become a billionaire? Married some dude, you?
