Bali Mount Agung Volcano Set to Blow Within 24 Hours

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

no idea what u liked about Ubud. 15 years ago maybe but now, its just small streets full of shops and people, add in the tour bus's arriving each day at 11..
yea outside Udub is nice but, (saw nice villas for rent in rice fields for $800-1,500 /month) traffic everywhere is worse than anything in Cambodia, even monivong road.
The whole island caters to those seeking a beach vacation ( black sand) and hanging out at their pools and maybe do a dive trip or two.
the far south is way to overpopulated to get around and its dam expensive there compared to anywhere else in SE asia (outside of maybe Singapore)
They all want the magic place it was but its gone.....

I cant compare to decades ago Richard, I wasn't there then
Ubud as you know is made up of several villages now, its not just the main street but I know what you mean on it
I rented an apartment same as I have here sharing a pool and it was $300 which is $100 more than I pay now inc electric

thankfully we are all different and don't all like places for the same reasons
maybe I just miss all the yoga teachers

More volcanos, now this one blows in Indonesia.

Volcano erupts in Indonesia forcing anyone within 3km to evacuate immediately

A volcano has erupted on the border between Central Java and Yogyakarta in Indonesia causing chaos and possible flight diversions to the region.
The volcano started to erupt at 7.32 EST on Friday morning, with the thick plume of smoke reaching a height of 5,500m above the summit, Indonesia's Research and Development Center for Geological Disaster Technology has said.

Bali Airport closed today
Til 7pm on 29th June
List of cancelled flights

More flight delays, suspensions and cancellations as airlines stay grounded to avoid Agung’s ash. .\
Due to a volcanic ash cloud caused by Mount Agung in Bali, it is currently not safe to operate flights to or from Denpasar Airport.

As a result, several flights tonight have been cancelled – a full list of cancelled flights is below.

FYI:'
was in Bali Oct 2017 , for those that didn't read, cant be bothered, the whole thread
back than parts of the coast were completely closed and there was a 7-10 kms "no go" area around Mount Agung;

Its been partially blowing since than;

Today's update

Image

Quake Bali
Earthquake this morning felt across Bali from southwest of Bali, about 8.18am on Tuesday 16 July.
Magnitude 5.7
The quake’s epicentre was 102 km (62 miles) southwest of Denpasar in Bali and was 100 km (60 miles) deep.

No damage reported. But have seen some pics of cracks (in walls)
It was a bit of a rattle and roll, and went on for a bit, but mild compared to the Lombok quakes last year.
EMSC said close to eight million people would’ve felt the tremors.
