Tough call for the locals. Will it blow ? Or just scare away the tourists ?

Tourist hotspots turn to ghost towns as people flee Bali volcano threat
29 Sept 2017
Mount Agung’s rumblings have prompted a mass exodus, leaving the future even more uncertain in a region so reliant on tourism.
Tourist hotspots on the Indonesian holiday island of Bali have turned to virtual ghost towns as residents and visitors clear out en masse in response to the looming threat of Mount Agung erupting.

In Tulamben, a small fishing village on Bali’s east coast within the officially designated 7.5-mile (12km) danger zone, all hotels have shut down and there was not a single tourist in sight on Friday. A message on a blackboard outside an empty cafe said “pray for us”.

Bali has been on edge since last week, when the threat level from the volcano was raised to maximum and hundreds of volcanic earthquakes began to rattle the area on a daily basis...

Volunteers are risking a volcanic eruption to save Bali’s abandoned pets
2 October 2017
Some 140,000 people fled their homes for evacuation centres when authorities in Bali raised the alert for Mount Agung volcano to the highest level.
But evacuees were told they couldn’t bring their pets and livestock with them — leaving thousands of animals trapped inside the dangerous “red zone” around the volcano, right in the potential path of deadly lava and pyroclastic flow.

The abandoned animals include countless pet dogs and cats, as well as strays, monkeys, birds, chickens, cows and goats.

With the threat of an eruption still dangerously high, a team of volunteers — including Australians — are now risking their lives to head inside the danger zone and rescue the helpless animals.

The Australian not-for-profit group, Bali Dog Adoption Rehabilitation Centre — or BARC — has joined forces with a team of other animal charities, including Animals Indonesia, Jakarta Animal Aid Network and the Centre for Orangutan Protection, to form the “Animals Emergency Response Unit”.
“For two weeks our team has been going into the red zone to provide food, water and veterinary care to abandoned animals,” BARC founder Linda Buller, who is in Bali, said in a statement to news.com.au...

Friday October 6

7.32pm: Bali state of emergency extended

Bali’s state of emergency has been extended due to increased uncertainty surrounding the possible eruption of Mount Agung.

The state of emergency was originally planned to stretch between September 29 and October 12.

However, Indonesia’s National Disaster Mitigation Agency has now pushed the date back to October 16.

4.45pm: Agung showing ‘continued inflation’

Mount Agung has become increasingly active after a brief period of calming, according to MAGMA Indonesia.

A report released yesterday said: “Tiltmeter observations showed a sudden deflation on October 1, 2017, but following days until today showed continued inflation.”

Tiltmeters are used to monitor changes on the surface of volcanoes.

Could there be a UFO base inside the volcano?

if there was it is gone now
Mount Agung eruption Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 17:30 WITA

Mount Agung eruption occurred at 17:30 WITA. The gray columns were observed in medium-grayish-blackish-gray as high as 1500 meters above the summit of Mount Agung. Ash eruption blowing weakly toward the West. Communities remain calm and follow PVMBG's recommendation on Level III (Siaga) status not to engage in any activity within a 6 km radius plus a sectoral extension of 7.5 km to the North-Northeast, Southeast and South-Southwest. VONA color code: ORANGE.

Recommendation :
Communities around G. Agung and climbers / visitors / tourists not to be on, do not climb and do not do any activity in the Estimate Zone of Hazard that is inside the crater area of &-&-G. Agung and in all areas within a radius of 6 km from Kawah Puncak G. Agung and added sectoral expansion to North-Northeast and Southeast-South-Southwest as far as 7.5 km. Estimated Zone Dangers are dynamic and continuously evaluated and can be changed at any time following the most recent / recent G. Agung observation data. Areas affected include Br. Br. Belong, Pucang, and Pengalusan (Desa Ban); Dusun Br. Badeg Kelodan, Central Badeg, Badegdukuh, Telunbuana, Pura, Over and Sogra (Sebudi Village); Dusun Br. Yehkori, Untalan, Galih and Pesagi (Jungutan Village); and some areas of Dukuh Village.
If the eruption occurs then another potential danger that can occur is the occurrence of heavy ash rain that hit the entire Estimated Danger Zone. Heavy ash rain may also extend its impact beyond the Estimated Danger Zone depending on the direction and speed of the wind. By the time this recommendation is lowered, the wind blows predominantly towards the South-Southeast. Therefore, it is expected that this can be anticipated early especially in determining the location of the refugees.
Given the potential dangers of volcanic ash that can cause acute respiratory distress (ISPA) in humans it is expected that all communities, primarily living around G. Agung and on the island of Bali, immediately prepare masks cover the nose and mouth and eye protection as an effort to anticipate the potential danger volcanic ash.
Local Government and its staffs as well as BNPB to immediately assist in establishing the communication network via cellular phone (WhatsApp Group) as well as integrated radio communication to overcome the limitations of cell phone signal among the parties related to G. Agung disaster eruption disaster. It is expected that a routine and fast information dissemination process can be well organized.
All stakeholders in the aviation sector continue to follow G. Agung's routine development routinely because observation data can be rapidly changing so that preventive efforts to ensure air safety can be done.
All parties to maintain the atmosphere atmosphere on the island of Bali, do not spread false news (hoax) and not hooked issues about the eruption of G. Agung is not clear source.
Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation, Geological Agency continues to coordinate with Local Government, BNPB, BPBD Bali Province and BPBD Kabupaten Karangasem in providing information about the activities of G. Agung.
Communities around G. Agung and climbers / visitors / tourists are expected to remain calm while maintaining vigilance and following the appeal of Local Government, District / City Government, Provincial / Regency / City BPBD and other related apparatus in accordance with recommendations issued by the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation, Geological Agency so that if necessary rapid strategic mitigation efforts, can be done immediately and without waiting for a long time.
