They are saying now that "He had boarded a plane in Cambodia allegedly carrying 28 grams of marijuana mixed with tobacco in his luggage and 37 Diazepam pills."

Well hello, news.com.au. According to them, first the guy arrives in Bali from Bangkok, then from Australia, and now, best of all, Cambodia.

Previous news reports from news.com.au on this case:
Mr Baker was intercepted at Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport after flying into Bali on a Lion flight from Bangkok at noon on Sunday.

Joshua James Baker has told police he brought the drugs from Australia to Bali with him and that he did not believe he was guilty because it is legal to use marijuana in Australia.

Weird. There are no direct flights to Bali from Cambodia,so perhaps he brought the valium and weed from Cambodia (or even from Australia lol) and transited through Bkk on his way to Bali ? Definitely not of "sound mind" in any case.
Mr Baker’s lawyers were hoping to get him transferred to a hospital when he went on trial at Denpasar Court this afternoon and were going to argue that because he has a mental illness he should be released from jail and sent to a hospital instead.
His lawyers were also going to argue he wasn’t of “sound mind” when he boarded the plane in Cambodia.

Yeah. That's the blue ones.

A nice middle class women from the uk had codiene for a back problem but no prescription. She was banged up for a couple of weeks. The british embassy had managed to get a fax from her doctor with 24 hours but they kept her in. She was so far removed from being a druggy it beggars belief.

Phone the embassy. I did last time from uk and they said no problem for us travelling out with a british script ( they know how tight the NHS is.

Catching up:

LAWYERS for an Australian man accused of smuggling drugs into Bali have cut a last-minute deal with authorities to get him transferred to a psychiatric hospital, hours before he was due to face trial.

Joshua Baker was supposed to appear at Denpasar Court this afternoon but didn’t arrive at the busy courtroom with the rest of the inmates transferred from Kerobakan prison.

Guards told 9 News the 32-year-old had instead been taken to a mental health unit and was released at approximately 5pm AEDT.

Mr Baker, who was born in Mount Isa in Queensland, was arrested on October 8.

He had boarded a plane in Cambodia allegedly carrying 28 grams of marijuana mixed with tobacco in his luggage and 37 Diazepam [Valium] pills.

He has been in custody ever since with his lawyer fighting to have him freed on mental illness grounds.
