Australia: Tribute to Alan Bond

Post by StroppyChops »

For those that know of him, here's Ian Verrender's ABC Australia tribute to tycoon/bandit Alan Bond:

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-06-05/i ... nd/6525132

I was working as the head chef at Club Sun City in Geraldton, WA when the Bond empire crumbled. Lawfully owned by Bond's brother in law, the resort was one part of the family jigsaw of companies. During my hospitality studies "Big Red" opened the Observation City hotel - she walked onto campus and offered anyone who wanted it a job starting the next day, most of my fellow students walked out there and then. And deeply regretted not finishing their studies.

I do like his big painting, though.
