Aussie with 200 million dollars of meth crashes into police car
Police in Sydney's north-western suburbs have scored an easy result after finding more than $200 million worth of methylamphetamine in a van that crashed into police cars parked outside Eastwood Police Station.
Detective Chief Inspector Glyn Baker, crime manager at Ryde police area command, said it was "one of the easiest drug busts the NSW Police has ever made".
"It’s an exceptional set of circumstances," he told reporters on Tuesday. "Absolutely incredible."
The driver allegedly fled the scene in the van, which was stopped and searched about an hour later by a senior inspector on Church Street, Ryde.
Chief Inspector Baker said the senior inspector was "extremely surprised" to find 273 kilograms of the drug ice, which has an estimated potential street value of more than $200 million.
"The vehicle was searched and, remarkably, inside that vehicle was 13 [sealed packing] boxes. Each box contained 21 one kilogram bags of methamphetamine, commonly referred to as ice," he said.
"With a haul of this size, this has now initiated quite a significant investigation ... You can only assume it’s a distribution point to then on-sell a significant amount of drugs."

$732,000 a kilo? That's the same ridiculous way police forces all over work out bulk price by dividing by the highest possible street deal price. It's probably about $5000 a kilo here.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

They could make more if they wrapped every atom in plastic and sold it individually.John Bingham wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 6:16 pm $732,000 a kilo? math not your strongest skill???
$2000000 divided by 273 kilos = $7326 which is very realistic.
And everyone comments on excessive price quotes....... as HE would say ...fake news

How many did a quick check to see if it was right?
Many news articles are someones opinion based on information, hearsay and some facts. When another view is proposed some people will agree with the new version without collating all the info and making an informed decision.
That's how the media controls information.
