Maybe elites, corporate interests and lobbyists. It fits with the definition of fascism.bong.kuit wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 6:57 pmThat are... ?Dunderhead wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 6:42 pm The trouble is that the big decisions are not made by elected politicians. Absolutely agree with this definition. Just wanted to have it spelled out, to make sure it's not "the Jews" or sumfin.Apollo91881 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 8:28 pmMaybe elites, corporate interests and lobbyists. Edit: I'd say "military industrial complex" fits quite well...
Re: America needs ??????????
Q. What does America need?
A. An actual candidate for President.
The real problem with the upcoming election in November is that one of those 2 idiots is going to win....
Is there a box I can check on the ballot for "Disband the union and start over again?"

The union was founded on organized religion, close knit extended families, a self-educated yeomanry, a strong belief in manifest destiny. It’s taken hundreds of years to destroy each of these institutions to get to today.monomial wrote:Is there a box I can check on the ballot for "Disband the union and start over again?"
Disband the Union was tried. Brother killed brother, families were broken up taking sides. Over 600,000 dead, 1.6 million injured. The question has been long settled in blood.
What America needs is to be America again.
Re: America needs ??????????
I'm not sure it was settled so much as just temporarily postponed. I personally think a breakup by relatively peaceful, mutual agreement is better than a breakup through another round of civil war. I can't see any other direction we are heading...newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 9:22 amThe union was founded on organized religion, close knit extended families, a self-educated yeomanry, a strong belief in manifest destiny. Trump as the presidential candidate of a new Neo ConfederateParty
Trump Is Trying to Make the Confederacy Great Again
Since the Civil War there has always been a Southern Party, and that party frequently echoes strains of the Old South. Think hostility toward civil rights coupled with a wariness toward modernity.
Although Southern did not automatically equal neo-Confederate, at times the distinction gets lost. And to be sure, the Republican Party wasn’t always the Southern Party. Instead, it was the Democrats who were the first Party of the South.
During the debate over the 1964 Civil Rights Act, it was the congressional GOP that gave President Johnson the votes he needed to overcome Dixiecrat opposition. But passage of the Civil Rights Act marked a turning point.
In the aftermath of Johnson signing the bill into law, the Republicans nominated Sen. Barry Goldwater as their presidential nominee, although Goldwater had opposed the law’s passage. In the end, Goldwater was shellacked in a landslide, and won only his home state of Arizona and five states in the Deep South. Looking back, Goldwater’s defeat became a harbinger of Swexodus, the migration of Southern whites to the Republican Party..................
