When you speak the date do you then say today is 20th April (20/4), or do you say its April 20th (4/20)? See the date and time stamp of your post. Month, date, year. That is even how The Times writes the date. This website is in English. It's not just an American thing. Get over it. What are you, German?

Besides, the number 420 originally started as a time after school when kids used to get high, 4:20. Not sure or really care how the date became something of note, but it apparently is to some pot smokers in the US.
