My morale would be better if it had a bloody pineapple growing on the top! Anyway I will have lots of tropical things to look at in a couple of weeks.
I lobbed off the top of a pineapple 2 years ago and it fruited last month, be interesting to see how big it gets and if I can eat it, have some good rum from the DR to mix up some pina coladas :beer3:

Oh nice! I planted one here about 8mo ago but the edges of the leaves are all spiky, it's weird - not like yours or my one in Sydney. I found out you can put an apple on top and a plastic bag over it to trap the gas and that encourages them to flower/fruit. I might have to start again. I think my one is a dud.

ah ok, I'll give it another chance :D It's so small it'll probably produce a micro pineapple if anything at all.

Not sure about the "Khmer" ones but this one was looking pretty bad after 8 months, I replanted it in a bigger pot and it got 3 times the size, took 2 years for it to fruit. Outside my friend's apartment there was a small plant that fruited before mine, don't think the pineapple will get any bigger than 3".

Now if I can keep the damn iguanas from eating it as it ripens, bastards eat everything :voilent4:
