Anyway it is pretty much impossible for apis mellifera to survive as ferals in cambodia due to varroa an tropelaelaps mites.
So my comments speak more to australia.
Frank, my knowledge is small but we observe swarms of very large bees, relocating from tree to tree, for perhaps a week, and then they're gone to a new place.
We have heaps of swarms fly over us, perhaps one or two a week.
We also have a heap of "ordinary/small" bees in the passionfruit.
Maybe it's different coz we are remote?
Also maybe stingless bee here, real small.
