Yes, that's what I mentioned earlier. The larger thai chickens are not delicious according to the locals.

What's your take on that? Is it because it's Thai so therefore it can't be good? Or is it really not good?
I will eat the Thai chickens bought from the market now and then, 3x the size and a $ or so cheaper on a kg. Let's face it, any chicken you eat in a restaurant is this sort anyway.

Because of the size it's said they are full of chemicals, which may also be true. My experience also tells me all chickens need plenty of antibiotics etc, else they die, I doubt there is such a thing as real organic chicken, unless it's from your own yard.

I find the local chickens have a better flavour (especially your own), and good for soup. As Cambodians can do Jesus style feeding the 5000 on 1 pot f bone gruel, then size isn't that isn't so important.

Interestingly there are different grades of local chickens, the smaller ones are younger, so more tender and better for frying/BBQ, the bigger ones, often seen with eggs forming in the corpse are older, tougher, and good only for soup, like a broiler bird back home. The proverbial spring chicken.....

Here you go, 2.5kg with the guts in, 2.3kg with guts out, fresh from the factory farm.

If you want some, I can deliver to pp, along with my own farm chickens, ducks, geese and also have a contact for whole and half pigs.

2.5 Kg for a chicken seems pretty big. How old would that bird be? Worthwhile roasting or just an old boiler?

No, good for fry/BBQ. From the same farm that sells to cp company, just a cheap, pumped full of good knows what commercial breed chicken, like what the op was asking after. Plenty of these farms around the provinces, and I'm sure this is where most of the meat for pp restaurants comes from, apart from the Khmer for Khmer ones.

I'm going to grill it later, it'll be juicy.

The name of the bar is The Whisper Bar

The bar is in Koh Kong, Road 6. The small bar is nestled between several massage shops, and has a nice relaxing atmosphere. Pleasant music and sports/news on the TV.

Regarding food, we try to accommodate many tastes. But now with low season in this small sleepy town we take orders, and only use fresh local produce.

I am hoping to build an outside oven very soon, so I can offer Sunday Roasts and good Yorkshire Puddings.
