Lots of potential here for raising goats, but I think you should be aiming at the meat market not the milk market. Why ? Because there are more consumers here ,,, eg,, Muslims that eat goat meat than there are people that drink milk. Secondly, goat meat has a higher value than milk and it can be kept longer.
You really need to upbreed to a [ Boer ] meat goat to do that though. Remember goats are not grazers like cow or sheep, they are '' browsers '', in other words they like to nibble the best tender shoots off this plant before moving to the next plant.. but they will strip a tree or any plant to the bone if they cannot move along to the next plant.
Someone who can locate their goats in a large rubber plantation or palm oil plantation will be doing the owner of the land a big favor in keeping the undergrowth down and goats will not damage those type of trees.

Lots of good luck with your venture Steven.

Steven,,, Have you given those two kids a name yet.

If they are female, may I suggest Ellis the Great and Big Red.

As i have researched some webpages about the milk price in Cambodia, I found 1L milk to be around 2usd in retail, which is even more than some European countries. Saanen goats, a dairy breed, have very high yields in quality milk (high fat content) and adapt also to tropical climates. I assume in Cambodia you have less running costs. Is there such low demand? I mean I understand you saying there is a higher demand for meat but aren’t there also dairy factories who would want high quality milk?

I would be making feta cheese with it. You wouldn't get a lot, and you would only need 1 or two customers. It lasts longer than fresh milk too.

Looking at the goat, it appears to be a Nubian which is the compromise breed for meat/milk. Good choice.

The simple answer would be NO.

Kampot seems like it would be too wet for goats.

Do you have a way to move the goats around from one area to another?
