This subject just came up with the girl who is from Kompong Cham. I guess when she sells a cow there, she has to pay around $200.00 to the cops to take care of the transfer/ownership documents.

Actually in my view cows are not a positive move. Beef is harmful from a climate change perspective. Environmental impact is major.
Dairy cows could be another story but that is hardly done in Cambodia at all.

Here is a gem from my childhood that will let you know what a cow is worth.....
I grew up in a strict Mormon family and everyone was familiar with this video. I always thought Mohana was hotter than shit and couldn't understand why in the movie she was put down as being ugly...... Oh well.

I'm not sure a cow is more harmful than a diesel engine from a climate change perspective. Cows in Cambodia are not used as pets, they're merely a tool in small scale family farms.daeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 2:30 am Actually in my view cows are not a positive move. I would say that in the Cambodian context cows are a miniscule issue.daeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 2:30 am Actually in my view cows are not a positive move. Beef is harmful from a climate change perspective. Environmental impact is major.

If talking about the Amazon for instance then yes I'm with you. Meat and soy is the devil!

I've got a miserable old cow you can have for nothing...Uncle-V wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 2:27 pm Wa joking with a lady friend of mine about buying her a cow for her birthday. She says it's a good money maker (cow will have calves and you can sell them for a handsome profit). She says a cow will set you back about 1,000 USD.
Just curious, but how much does a cow go for anyway?

Up in the province, I mainly fear the next door neighbour; she’s a bit of a miserable drunk, and gets a bit nasty by mid evening. For some reason, she seems to gravitate towards me.Kammekor wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 10:49 amPersonally I fear the chicken lice more than chopping yokels.John Bingham wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 10:05 pmI know.
