You can buy the flasks in Indonesia too - there is a lot of work in 'deflasking' orchids but definitely the economical way to do it. Unfortunately each plant is indeed a 'clone' so you end up with dozens of the same flower.

seems like someone who lived in siem reap could do quite a good plant rental biz on a very low cap startup.
take them to hotels in full flower and replace when needed.

lots of tourists buy orchids to take home.

i am sure phytosanitary certificates for export could be obtained with a little research.

esp for teh clones.

I bet a lot of orchids growen here maybe protected under CITES....but growing even for the home market one could do well...

like gems, orchids are ubiquitous and a very narrow niche.

for sure there would be a big rental market for the 5 star hotels with the flowering plants.
this is a very appealing business i think.
