Re: Mango News
Thanks for your attempt to explain half my neighbourhood and family to me. Utter nonsense of course.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 12:15 amThey are Khmer through generations of marriage. May have lighter skin, be merchants, or high businesses, celebrate Chinese New Year, but are Khmer. More likely to empathize with their fellow Khmer and give them a fair wage.John Bingham wrote:What makes you believe Sino-Khmers are any better? Chinese see Khmer as not Chinese. No reason to give them fair anything and just line pockets.
My opinions, of course.

Khmer Rouge support was mainly in the countryside. Around places like Siem Reap.pootylicious wrote:How bout cha lookup the family backgrounds of the mass murdering cadre of the Khmer Rouge.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 12:15 am More likely to empathize with their fellow Khmer ...
Are you implying that most countryside Khmer have more Chinese ‘family backgrounds’ as opposed to city Khmer?
Please enlighten us?

There was an interesting video on FB a few weeks ago, showing an unpleasant situation where a Khmer business owner had short changed his employees salaries, and was quite forceful about not paying up. Don’t assume solidarity based on ethnicity.

Re: Mango News
Almost all of the men who ordered the killings were partial Chinese or fully Chinese.

Re: Mango News
My Khmer daughter bought Chinese dehydrated strawberries the other day. They were delicious but expensive. Strawberries are often only $2.50 a punnet here but it got me thinking that mangoes are the ideal fruit to dehydrate. Such a short season and so quick to spoil.
Why does no one copy the Chinese with their drying technology.

Re: Mango News
The mango drying industry is well underway here and their products are widely available. Kirirom products are probably the best known, and are available in E Mart in 70g and 150g at about $1.50 and $2.25 respectively, but a better product (IMHO) is the KCCV Plantation Company ones, also available in E Mart in 500g pouches (a bit big) at $7.50. These are more moist and delicious. They also pack in 100g and 300g packs, which is a bit more manageable.willyhilly wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 12:39 pm My Khmer daughter bought Chinese dehydrated strawberries the other day. If you have any form of diabetes, ffs stay away from these products!
Aeon will sell both these brands too, Super Duper do the Kirirom brand. Just stay away from those horrible yellow ones that Super Duper sell.
