Unfortunately, stories like these are all to common. Usually the victim is a Thai girl, but I can recall several news stories of Asian female tourists falling victim to motodop rapists in and around Pattaya over the years.

Pattaya Police Pressure to find suspect in Danish Sexual Assault Case

Police from three stations around the Pattaya area are combining their resources to find a Thai man wanted in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 23 year old Danish woman, which took place on Saturday.

The victim, whose name has been withheld from the media, had gone to see a friend residing in the Baan Amphur area, just outside of Pattaya. Before she intended to return to her home in Naklua, she stopped at a PTT Petrol Station in the Baan Amphur area and used an ATM to withdraw 23,000 Baht in cash.

A Thai man, thought to be aged between 25 and 30 approached on a motorbike and claimed to be a Motorbike Taxi Driver. A price was agreed to take her back to Naklua and the woman jumped on the bike and the journey to Naklua began.

On the way back, the driver made a detour to a remote road in the Huay Yai area and forced the woman to accompany him to a nearby Cassava Field where the alleged sexual assault took place. The man also stole the 23,000 Baht from her.

The man offered to return the Danish woman to the Petrol Station and she accepted the ride but jumped off the bike on the Sukhumvit Road near a group of people. The driver sped off and the victim was offered assistance to contact the Police. A photofit impression of the suspect was released but for now the suspect remains at large and on Tuesday Morning a meeting of senior officers from Pattaya,

Banglamung and Huay Yai Police Stations took place at Banglamung Police Station. The media was not invited to attend the meeting which is thought to have revealed new information on the suspect which the Police do not wish to be published for now.

DNA tests are currently taking place on a Black T-Shirt and Hair Samples taken from the scene of the alleged attack and CCTV images from the Petrol Station are being analyzed.

Due to a number of recent high profile cases involving Foreign Nationals, local Police are under pressure to arrest the person responsible for the alleged attack but for now he remains at-large

Update:

Suspect arrested following sexual assault of Danish woman in Pattaya

On Friday Night it was confirmed by Police that a man, thought to be responsible for the sexual assault and theft of money from a Danish woman on 27th September, has now been arrested.

Following a 6 day investigation, Region 2 Police were able to locate and arrest the suspect in Chantaburi Province. He was identified thanks to CCTV from a Petrol Station in Baan Amphur, and after his arrest a picture of the man, named as Khun Bunleung aged 29, was shown to the Danish victim who identified him as the man who conducted the sexual assault and robbery.

Despite strong evidence against him, Khun Bunleung told us that he vehemently denies all allegations made against him and will fight the case in Court. In the meantime, DNA samples of the suspect and samples taken from the crime scene are now being analyzed.

The suspect has been charged with sexual assault and theft and is now being held on-remand pending further investigations.

this case smells of shit a mile away.

first, there's no proof so far there was a rape, we'll have to wait for the DNA but we all know scandinavians claim rape for whatever silly reasons, maybe he just tried to kiss her, maybe she was totally drunk and dressed like a slut ?

second, i've never heard of a criminal robbing and raping a girl and then driving her back home as if nothing happened !

it's 100% guaranteed the girl made up the whole story, and yet the guy's reputation will now be stained forever since his name has been plastered on the mainstream news.

Maybe because she needed money and felt safe doing so at the time. She obviously made several poor decisions and underestimated the safety risk of the situation she was in. As for his motives, who knows. Maybe he thought he would get away with it. Maybe, like a psychopath, he felt he did nothing wrong or unusual...and that is how women are treated. Are you suggesting maybe she willingly agreed to accompany him to a cassava field outside of town at that hour for a sexual encounter? There are plenty of similar reports of motodops raping women who agree to rides. She is lucky she wasn't killed in that remote field.
