You've been many times to Pattaya. What do you really think about the place?

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

You've been many times to Pattaya. What do you really think about the place?

Post by shnoukieBRO »

I been to Pattaya on and off since what feels like 15 to 20 years. Its always been a short side trip to my main travels and mostly enjoyable, but recently I've found it uninteresting and boring, etc.

Maybe October's weather don't help. Your opinions/ reflections please.

I've never been there and honestly don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Each to their own.

i disagree
Add on a great choice of restaurants & shopping and now that they have reclaimed the beach from the chairs the beach is nicer than before, but u need head over to Jomtien for swimming. Its a Chinese playground for sure, Soi Mk for some amazing nightlife, leave walking street for the tourists.

I was back there a few months ago, was amazed at how big it has gotten, Its a full on city and some of the nicest thais you can meet. I lived in Pattaya, Nakula an jomtien back in 83/84. there was NO darkside, in fact the other side of Sukumvit was rice fields, between south Pattaya, (had a house behind the Bayshore hotel in a fence in yard), and jomtien was trees & fields. Jomtien had 2 resorts and a few restaurants and gh's now the hotels, resort, shops, restaurants go for over 3 kms

Its like many say, (including stickman), great for a few days but after that...( am sad Angel witch is closed)..
