Transit Passengers what do they need

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

I transited at Bangkok twice over the last four weeks and at Bangkok airport there are no checks other than a boarding pass check. All checks are done at check in so I would contact the airline to make sure what they consider enough proof for vaccination and insurance.
neither have any health insruance....I sm trying to contact the airlines...
Then they can buy a useless Thai COVID insurance for the hours they spend @ Bangkok airport.
its only 650 baht, (less than $20)
buit agree, what a waste of $20
1300 baht return.

The word 'only' seems a contradiction from a self insured person.
why? i would not get any insurance UNLESS it was required, ( i had to have it last year to enter Cambodia) < same goes for vaccines>

Also, pay close attention to point no.10

Yes, point 10 has been a frustration for ages. It's put me off (and I guess a lot of others) getting in, but I assume it doesn't now apply from May 1st.

The above info is not valid if one is over 66 year old.

That is correct, I went through the lengthy checking at PNH two week ago the Bangkok Airways agent scrutined my documents with a special attention to my onward air ticket and my health insurance.

Which part is invalid for what kind of person over 66 years of age transiting at Bangkok airport under the current conditions?

not trolling at all;
I had to have shots when i was a kid to go to school
I had to have lots of shots when i joined the peace corps and was assigned to Zaire, ( yea sure i could have said no, but then i would not have been allowed to serve)
Since then (1980)
ONLY shots i have gotten were the covid vaccines cause i want to travel without quarantine

My choice, my body

ONE of the options from the Thai Pass web site an insurer DOES cover from 1 to 85 years old FWD .....but you have to take out the insurance 14 days before flying otherwise your supposed to get a negative pcr test less than 72 hrs before flying. thats around $20 for the insurance. If you do not get the PCR and make a claim...they want to see the PCR test....

the only one I have found is 74 Euros from https://www.mondialcare.eu/insurance-world-travel ..which appears to tick all the boxes but the friend I am trying to help seems to think his Dutch health insurance will cover this and his daughter was looking into this ( I very much doubt this is the case)

I easily got that for one flying end of month... the other has a flight early next week if he buys that he is supposed to get a negative pcr test as its less than 14 days to his flight.....

I think they will cover, but only up to the cost they would spend when he got ill in the Netherlands.

He / she needs a statement from the Dutch insurance company they cover COVID-care abroad. They might ask for additional premiums. If they don't issue it he / she needs additional insurance to transit in Bangkok, or transit though another airport not requiring it, for instance Singapore. This is not a case to be stubborn about. Tell you friend. Without proof of insurance, or when in doubt, they won't let anyone board the plane. They won't take the risk of having to fly people back and forth free of charge in case of denial at Bangkok.
