Tourist visa holders denied entry to Thailand, left stranded

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

you can get a 7 day extension for reason of being denied entry
but get one of those and ur out then.

Also long term over stayers are going to be fucked if there caught

It is ONLY aimed at those that have been getting back to back tourist visas and visa exempt stamps and everyone ( those on thai visa, those getting them an immigration) knows who they are.

those coming to Thailand for a week an than leaving and returning the next month wont be hassled (perhaps) >
also you can still get a triple tourist visa in your own country an that gives you almost 9 full months here

bottom line, if you want stay/work in Thailand, get the right visa.

but that same "back to back tourist visas and visa exempt stamps" would apply to the guy who goes 1 weekend every month as well... who WOULD still be a tourist. i know more than a few who do this... especially ones who order from suppliers/etc over there and go frequently to oversee order fulfillment and meet with vendors. something like this, keeping them from doing so, could also impact the export industry.

I know they will also start enforcing this at the airport next month as well, but I predict one winner in all of this at least in the short term and that will be Air Asia.

" i know more than a few who do this"

as i am hoping to do myself.

a tourist visa every 4 weeks would fuck up a lot of informal trade links existing now. wont help the ASEAN market.

i'm not quite that often but with visits to my firework vendors to see new products, oversee order fulfillment, etc combined with just going for some fun with the wife... it can get close to that. more like 2 or 3 months of back to back visits spaced 5 or 6 months apart.

going for a week/weekend every month or every other month is NOT what they mean by BACK TO BACK

you understand the rules so why try an make like you don't :please:

back to back entries so one can live in Thailand without the correct visa

arrive in Thailand get 30 days visa exempt take a bus ( or fly) to Cambodia/Laos/ Malaysia, go get Cambodia/Laos. Malay stamp
turn around and return back to Thailand for another 30 day stamp

Understand now

That is Back to Back

Or withvisas, get one and than after 60 days go to Cambodia/Laos/ Malaysia and get a new one.
Ie ur living in Thailand

Cant dumb it down anymore for you

Either way, this will definitely make some back-to-backers leave Thailand.

Where can they go that is somewhat similar to Thailand, not far away, and has even slacker visa requirements? .....hmmmmmmm........ I wonder..

if i get a 30 day exempt stamp once a month for a weekend, that WILL be back to back 30 day stamps... if you're not aware, a month is 30 days. THAT'S my point.
