The photos in the spoiler are pixeled. They show that the man appears to be kneeling on the floor with his head in a large bin of water, which appears to be in a shower compartment of the bathroom. Balancing on the top of his head, propped up against the wall is a full sack of golf-clubs.

Does it seem possible to kill yourself by simultaneously putting your face into a bin of water while lifting a sack of golf-clubs and delicately positioning them on top of your head in such a way that they will maintain your head under water and not fall to the floor?
Could you then quietly drown yourself without disturbing the golf bag ?

Murder or Suicide? Body of Swede Found in Jomtien Just after midnight on July 6 Pattaya Police were informed that the body of a man had been found on the tenth floor of Tower A, View Talay Condominiums, Pratumnak Hill, Pattaya.

There the body of sixty-two year old Swede, Sten Lundholm, was discovered in a peculiar position, sitting with his face in a bucket of water. There was a set of golf clubs lying across his shoulders. He had bruising on several parts of his body and medics estimated he had been dead for five or six hours.

A handwritten note was taken from a nearby table, as evidence, by investigating officers although its contents have not been revealed.

Twenty-six year old Weawmanee Luangkratoke, who says she works at a bar where Mr Lundholm was a regular customer, discovered the body. She claims Mr Lundholm did not appear in the bar that evening and so, after her shift, she went round to check on him.

Receiving no answer at the door she asked the security guard to use a spare key and they discovered the bizarre scene.

Statements have been taken and the body removed to the Police Hospital for post-mortem and to try to establish the cause of death. At this stage the police have not ruled out a murder staged to look like suicide.

The one time I traveled through there and asked some old timers at a bar for stories they said that men who were too careless with showing off questionable partners would be given flying lessons when the police looked like busting them, to prevent snitching and the pimps being caught. Same with drug mules who became too hot to carry the goods through BKK again, to prevent snitching.

Might be tall tales or the truth, who knows.

Update from Pattaya One points to suicide. RIP

This afternoon Pattaya One reporters contacted Pol Lt. Temtrong Rodsiri, the officer in charge of this case, and were informed that Pattaya police are now treating the case as a suicide. The letter found at the scene was addressed to whoever found his body, asking them to inform his family in Sweden via a given contact number.

Subsequently police learned that the deceased Swede was under stress from financial problems and are convinced that this was a suicide using the golf club bag to push his head down into the filled water bucket.
