Thais want monks to behave better.
Not surprisingly, after some high profile scandals involving monks in Thailand, the general opinion is that monks should be setting a better example as Buddhists :
Monk reacts to a tourist who declined to make a donation.
A stronger adherence by monks to Buddhist discipline and stricter vetting of people entering the monkhood are the two biggest reforms people would like to see in Buddhism, according to an opinion survey by Bangkok University pollsters.
The survey, by Bangkok Poll, involved 1,162 respondents throughout the country ahead of two important Buddhist religious days, Asanha Bucha on Tuesday and Wan Khao Phansa, the beginning of Buddhist Lent, on Wednesday.
Asked what kind of reform they most wanted to see in Buddhism, a majority, 52.6%, said they wanted monks to strictly follow Buddhist discipline; 18.6% wanted those entering the monkhood to be more carefully screened; and, 17.0% wanted religious sites to be truly developed for “good deeds”.

50 Million Baht Seized From Wat Dhammakaya
The Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) has confiscated four bank accounts, that have been traced to the controversial Dhammakaya Temple’s chief abbot Phra Dhammachayo, officials confirmed on Saturday evening.
The accounts, relating to the temple’s foundation, have balances totalling around fifty-million baht.
The secretary general of the AMLO, Chaiya Siri-ampankul, said the action related to the embezzlement and money laundering case initiated by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) against the monk and associates.
The DSI have also instructed the AMLO to find billions of baht allegedly embezzled from the Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative.
