Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
as above
DONT Pay ur 10,000 baht JUST YET>>>
it might not happen
1. A foreign applicant must e-mail Thailand Longstay Company ([email protected]) to submit his/her intention to apply for the Special Tourist Visa (STV). In the e-mail, please provide the following information of all the applicants:
DONT Pay ur 10,000 baht JUST YET>>>
it might not happen
https://www.ttrweekly.com/site/2020/09/ ... price-tag/But Richard Barrow, a popular Thailand travel blogger, tweeted on Thursday: “Travel agents have started to ask for a THB10,000 upfront service fee which is non-refundable. As the government hasn’t announced any details yet, including which countries are allowed to take part, it’s advisable not to pay yet.”
Barrow’s warnings are gospel for thousands of travellers planning Thailand trips, and his latest tweet fuelled a flurry of questions that suggest the special tourist visa could be a step too far for cost-conscious travellers.
The identity of the travel agents authorised to handle the new visa option and charge a fee is far from clear, although the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s long-stay company does have preferred agents overseas that act as sales representatives for various holiday options.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Worryingly it states at the top of the page, "Foreigners will be able to apply for this visa until 30 September 2021." ??
Maybe they mean "from" 30 September.

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
Was having a look at some of the "perks" offered by the various hotels, which include:
“Free laundry service 2 pieces per person per day” (Le Meridien)
“Free yoga mat” (Movenpick BDMS Wellness Resort)
“Free 24 hour ambulance transfers” (Qiu Hotel)
“Free four species influenza vaccine” (The Idle Residence)
“hotel provided garments” (Grand Richmond Hotel)
“Personal thermometer in room” (Grand Richmond Hotel)
“in room microwave” (Grand cantre point hotel)
Worryingly, some of the hotels provide daily room cleaning. Would have thought that would compromise the isolation ?
Worth noting that some of the hotels offer outdoor access to poolside areas/roof gardens after 7 days.
Anyway, so far as I'm concerned it's no more than a pipe dream until they announce the rest of the details, including whether there are restrictions on which nationalities can go.
My other big reservation is that you are going to be probably $4,000 out of pocket (1 month accommodation inc 2 weeks in ASL, flights, agency fee) by the time you apply for the visa and they're only giving out 1,200 a MONTH (and seemingly only having 8 flights a month from the whole rest of the world for STV folk). I can see a LOT of people potentially forking out a lot and not even being able to get a visa and/or a confirmed flight.
Time will tell though and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah, I misread 2021 as 2020 first time I looked at it. Thought I'd deleted that part of the comment tbh, but looks like I'd posted it about 4 times .Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 6:48 amit just means the visa will be in effect for a year september 2020-2021popping in wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 12:01 amThe website works for me. Glad that site's working. I read that they have a meeting next tuesday when they will finalise the details, so hopefully more info will become available next week. I get the impression they're genuinely making an effort to let tourists come back in. Anyway, cheers.
