Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Thailand to Allow International Air Travel
3 June 2020
Thailand’s government has set July 1st for the lifting of all business lockdowns and the re-opening of international travel. Security officials say all businesses and activities will be allowed to resume fully in July.

The lifting will also include interprovincial and international travel, as well as the end of emergency decree.

NSC secretary-general Gen Somsak Rungsita said the lift of restrictions would be a complete reopening of the country. Officials would next month prepare health recommendations and measures for the reopening.

People’s cooperation is important. This concerns the use of face masks, social distancing, hand wash and limited activities. As long as the disease is spreading worldwide, we will have to fight against it for a while” he said.

just cause they say that today does not mean they cant/wont reverse it
if they start to see a second wave, ( they just announced ways for those non thai's holding WP to return)

They will extend the ban..
Upon arrival at airports, travelers should present a health certificate
so you will still need Covid free ( or ft to fly) certificate

PLUS; will they stop requiring a $100,000 insurance policy, 14 day quarantine?
Passengers are also encouraged to travel as light as possible. With just one small piece of hand luggage

The ICAO guideline report also didn’t advocate leaving every other seat open to assure covid-19 social distancing. A restriction that most if not all airlines sees as a threat to its profitability.
hate to get the middle seat, 12+ hours with a mask and siting between 2 others???? NO THANKS>
I wont be traveling till next year at the earliest, except for land crossings.
We can already travel within the country with 8 provinces still requiring 14 day quarantines

Cambodia will not follow. Cambodia has a leader , and HE leads .
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

They're so loose with how they speak. It seems they'll still have restrictions. Maybe a list of countries that they'll accept people from.

I think this is a rehash of the old Bangkok Post story of May 28. Since this story's appearance last Thursday, no Thai authority has rebutted it or supported it. Which makes me go hmmmm . . .

Headline: Complete end to lockdown on July 1

I still hope the hell it's true though.

Contrary to ceo news rehash of an old post
NOTE: these are proposals.......not set in stone or offical
2 June 2020, Bangkok - Dr Thanarak Phliphat, deputy director-general of the Department of Disease Control (DDC), advised the government to not allow entertainment venues such as pubs and bars to re-open in Phase 4 of lockdown easing. He added that Phase 4, which starts in mid-June, should allow schools to open first, and then evaluate the situation during Phase 4 before allowing entertainment venues to open in Phase 5, which is in early July.

In response to the news that Japan is allowing entry of people from Thailand, Dr Thanarak said he is concerned because there is a risk of travelling to Japan now. Thais planning to visit Japan are advised to delay their trips. Only those in need to travel to Japan should do it. Dr Thanarak further suggested that the government should require all Thais returning to the country from Japan to do the 14-day state quarantine.

Dr Taweesilp Visanuyothin, the spokesperson of the Center of COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), suggested on June 1 that if Thailand sees zero new cases of infection during Phase 4, foreign tourists may be allowed into Thailand in Phase 5, which maybe is in early August. The Cabinet at its June 2 meeting focused on economic stimulus package after the easing of restrictions.

I have known some people that have gotten permission to drive from Phuket to Bangkok to make a flight, ( we have an online url we need to register and ask for permission to leave , and wait for permission) no quarantine. but they went straight to the ariport.
had some biker friends ride from CM to Nan and no problem, BUT were refused to check into any hotel there as they weren't thai....

Saw online, a biker was able to ride from Bangkok to Surat Thani and take the ferry to samui with no problems

Not a good time to be on the road as no one knows in advance what will happen next
Just to update. Friend flew into Bangkok from Samui on Monday evening. Stayed in Bangkok 1 night and last night flew off to States via Seoul. No quarantine.
