Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
I tracked the story down. It was published today in The Thaiger News, but the photo is from Oct. 20, which is a bad thing for a news site to do. I arrived in Bangkok mid-October from Canada; it was a breeze getting processed. But it was clear they've got more officer desks. Today's story says they will have every desk occupied.jaynewcastle wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 2:32 pm Blimey, it shouldn't be like that in early November
I'm guessing they didn't have many immigration desks open

i would imagine Nov will see another increase>
More than 3.1 million foreign tourists arrived in Thailand in October, an increase of 43.55% over September,
Arrivals by air accounted for 96.36% of all arrivals. 2.2 million (75%) arrived at Suvarnabhumi international airport, followed by 400,000 at Don Mueang Airport.

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
My family and I travelled to Europe, ticketed out of BKK as it is cheaper to do that (and buy separate PNH-NKK-PNH tickets) than buy a ticket from PNH.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 10:41 am i would imagine Nov will see another increase>

So, we stayed one night in Bangkok in each direction. We get counted as six tourists!

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
Do they publish data on the average length of stay? Maybe a lot of people are using BKK's hub status to reduce travelling costs and, like me, are not actually tourists.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 7:50 amyep and Thailand thanks youarmchairlawyer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:19 pmMy family and I travelled to Europe, ticketed out of BKK as it is cheaper to do that (and buy separate PNH-NKK-PNH tickets) than buy a ticket from PNH.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 10:41 am i would imagine Nov will see another increase>

@Jamie_Lambo It just so happens I have had my eye on a December visit to Pattaya. Need to get out of Bangkok once a couple of friends head back to their home countries at the end of this month. Will know more once the calendar turns to winter.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 2:09 amyeah i usually like to stay in Naklua just north of Pattaya

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
Yes they do, by country. They also have analysis of daily spend by country although I'm not sure how they collect that information. Expect that 3.1 million figure to actually be 1.7 million when the official stats are released at month end by the Ministry of Tourism and Sport. The Transport Minister is quoting total airport traffic, a much higher number than actual foreign tourists entering the country.armchairlawyer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 9:11 amDo they publish data on the average length of stay?
