Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

I just looked and they don't, I have seen Virgin/Phuket a few times but it seems they are " Virgin holidays" not flight only. BA have similar date change rules but i am not sure if they are generous as Virgin.

i think most airlines have had date change rules for a long time now if you book directly through the company

Yup, so true. The Thai authorities love their graphics. I'm surprised there's no one pointing at the coronavirus.

I question this working
From April 1 to June 30, qarantined arrivals would be allowed to leave their rooms to go to a gymnasium, outdoor exercise area, swimming pool and controlled areas for cycling and outside shopping.

From July 1 to Sept 30, they would be able to eat in restaurants at their hotels and have health massages.
How will they allow them out for shopping, gyms, swimming an avoid them mixing with us that live here?
how will they allow them to go out to shop, but not eat?
will they be required to wear special clothes whenever they leave their room? maybe orange jump suits??
Phuket has NO controlled area's for anything....except for maybe some of the big resorts that are guarded already but even on the beach how will they sperate us??

Example Kamala has numerous beach front properties where they could cordon off areas for the new arrivals, BUT they cant stop us from walking past the resort on the beach

So a hotel will be ONLY for tourists here OR only for recent arrivals to avoid them mixing?

will they be unlimited hours out or monitored?

This is good news but of course no set in stone, I think most countries are hoping to open to tourism by October.

welcome to PHuket
Foreign travellers to Phuket can enjoy their stays free from quarantine restrictions starting July 1. Today, the infectious disease committee approved the plan to allow foreign tourists to skip quarantines on the premises that local Phuket residents will be inoculated before then, as part of plans to achieve a herd immunity. The plan was supposed to be originally submitted this Friday to the Centre for Economic Situation Administration for approval, but was unexpectedly approved earlier.

Yuthasak Supasorn, the governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, says the new “Sandbox” scheme, which would allow visitors to skip quarantine, could only be successful if 70% of the local population was vaccinated before lettting in tourists. Deputy governor Pichet Panapong says they have over 1 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines ready to inoculate the local population.

“Phuket has been without any new Covid-19 cases for 89 days…
