Thai visa crackdown

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Not sure if the link works but you could now be forgiven for thinking when is a visa crackdown not a visa crackdown in true Thai style. It's beginning to look like same old same old to me. I thought the idea was to prevent people from working without the correct visas ?
now the situation is even more confusing ... some borders will be "flexible" and others totally inflexible ... typical thai style !!

Why? The report list isn't checked from week to week anyway!

^^ Does the Report function actually work?

I reported one (or two) today and have had no feedback. Hardly worth the effort.

To be fair the mods manually check it among their many other duties.

when crossing into thailand by land border (from cambodia), then there is apparently only a 14 days visa stamped.

how much is this visa - for europeans ?

when leaving thailand (e.g. by plane), then only the departure tax is to pay and this is already included in the ticket price. (right?).

The 14 day stamp when entering Thailand from a land border is free for Europeans. However, anyone with multiple, consecutive entries into Thailand can be denied entry by Thai Immigration at their discretion. This is supposedly being more strictly enforced starting 2 weeks ago.

When flying out of Thailand, your ticket price is supposed to automatically include the airport tax. You will want to double check your airline bill to be sure. Sometimes, at least in the past, a travel agent would not include that tax in the bill, forcing the traveller to have to pony up and pay that tax with cash (Baht only) in order to board the plane....and often by then they had already exchanged all their Thai currency into dollars or Euros.

So, it's not functioning then!?

Two today, by clicking on the 'Report' button. [One about Drunk driving Scotland, and one about home delivered 'something').

Do you see any that have been reported by anyone recently?
