US Thai sex trafficking operation busted in America.

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Relax, just tired of the same old broken record that's been ringing lately.

Exactly. They could just have said "people". Were all the people involved white men? Were all the customers white men? Were they all "privileged"?

And the woman was convicted, so stop trying to lessen what she did. You're quoting her attorney, so I'm pretty sure they already took her past under consideration. We'll see if the appeal works.

@^ I'm relaxed. But you are right, I can settle for "people".

HOWEVER, you raise some interesting questions - when I checked out some facts on the trial, there are an awful lot of Thai-sounding names among the defendents, but I think they are all US citizens (like the woman in question.)

I think this case and sentence was reported almost two years ago in the Thai Media. Some foreigners who were deeply involved were never even investigated, despite the Thai Police having all the details of their involvement. Perhaps the biggest human sex trafficking operation, certainly the worst that I have seen, and which again the Thai police have full knowledge of, enjoys the same kind of 'immunity'. It is run by an Englishman from a location just outside Bangkok in the middle of up-market housing developments, home to middle class Thais. Their daughters are at great risk and no-one does anything. Bar girls, students, and middle class office workers are all lured and trapped in this organization which is making millions. Police corruption???
